“Need all of you,” I whispered.
“Soon, my precious. Soon.”
His fangs then sank into my upper thigh as pleasure burst through me. “Alexander!” I moaned, thrashing under his touch. His one hand stroked me as he continued to drink down my blood, his eyes on mine as he brought me undone.
His other hand was between his legs, working his length, matching the pace with his other hand. The sight of his fangs in my thigh as he stroked us both… I came with that visual in front of me.
“What have you ordered?!” Sienna shrieked, blue eyes filled with horror.
“Tomato plants?” I asked, gesturing to the plants.
She shivered, then left me at my little haven. I was so confused.
It was just me and my newly delivered plants, dirt, shed, and well basically everything except for the chickens. I’d yet to order those from the farm, needing everything in place before I did so. They had lots of baby chicks and I wanted some of those so I could watch them grow up. Like a proud farmer dad, which I still felt like I was, even without the farm.
“Oooh, you’re a pretty one, aren’t ya?” Jetty rasped, stroking my biggest tomato plant lovingly. His body shivered as he kept stroking the plant.
“Um,” I said, feeling like I was watching my poor plant being molested. “Jetty, can you bring me some of the compost? I need to plant these and I’m sure the compost will help fertilize the dirt better than any store-bought fertilizer would.”
“Mine is the best on earth! I am certain of that!” Jetty then scurried off, leaving me alone with my plants. I took in a deep breath, then got to work, placing my plants where I wanted them. My shed had to be built as well, and I needed it done before I could order the chickens. With that in mind, I let Jetty add the compost to my garden beds, adding that I wanted to plant the plants myself. I didn’t want any more unnecessary touching.
The shed was easy to build, and I managed to get it done after I’d eaten lunch. My plants were all planted and watered, the seeds as well. My chicken coop had bedding inside, ready for the chicks. The shed stood tall and proud, already filled with everything, so now I had nothing else to stall my time.
I mentally prepared myself as I walked back inside the mansion. As I showered, I thought about when Alexander would show himself. My dreams of him were affecting my view of the real Alexander, and I found myself missing the vampire, no matter how ridiculous that seemed. I missed all three of them. Loneliness was a horrible feeling, but it was what I felt as I dried off and got dressed. Nicco had my food plated and ready on my small table, my laptop already in place for me to finish the documentary.
Sad. That was what it was. My life was sad and lonely, but I couldn’t figure out what else to do.
My dinner tonight was a medium-rare steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. I needed all the iron I could get, so I eagerly ate it down, savoring each forkful of the tender meat.
The door opened just as I finished my plate. I swallowed my irritation as Jacob and Harland walked in, hand in hand, their fingers laced. Jealousy spiked inside of me. They still had someone to care for them. To hold. To touch. I had no one.
I walked over to them, holding out both wrists. “You can feed at the same time.”
They blinked, horrified.
“But that will only hurt worse!” Jacob argued.
“I can deal,” I grunted, all but showing my wrists at their mouths. “Now, feed, or get out.”
They shared a sad look, then both grabbed an arm each, biting down.
Everything went black after that.
Chapter Twenty-One
Colin
I woke up to shouting. My head was throbbing and once I realized it was Jacob and Harland that argued, my own anger flared. They were accusing each other of taking too much blood, yelling right over my head as I lay there, battling the biggest headache.
“If you were so goddamn worried about me—” I began, shaking with anger as I sat up, feeling the room tilt. “Then you could’ve fucking waited with feeding for another few days!”
They gaped at me. When I started to stumble, they both hurried forward, grabbing my arms.
“Don’t touch me!” I snapped, sitting back down. “Just leave. You got your blood.”
“That is not the only reason we are here,” Jacob said, sitting down next to me. “We care about you.”
I scoffed at that.
