“I’ll see you later, Star. Keep quiet. The walls and doors are all soundproof, but it would be better if you kept it down, just to be sure.”

“You can count on me.” I glance his way, giving a smile.

“Good.”

I watch him leave.

I wonder what his plan is. I’m hopeful it’s better than what I have.

Flint

Holy fuck.

My eyes are still burning when I walk out of my apartment. The sight of Star’s pretty pink pussy has been etched into my retinas for life.

I walked into my apartment, did a double take, and felt my balls pull so damned tight it hurt. I stood there and stared for a good few seconds before I reacted. The sight of all that pink made my dick go hard in an instant.

And then I opened my mouth and came down on her like a drill sergeant. I was too hard on Star in the way I reacted. Because I’m a sick fuck, and now I feel like shit about it.

I need to get my head out of my ass.

The conversation had to happen, and it happened. It’s done, and now she’s aware. It’s going to take time for her to adjust. Knowing Star, it’ll be fast. You don’t survive out in the jungle without being able to adapt quickly.

I have a plan to help her. It’s still pretty thin, but not nearly as bad as the one she has now. I just need to confirm that she’s telling the truth. There’s a part of me that wants to let it go and just trust her, but I can’t. That would be irresponsible.

I have so much on my plate; I didn’t need this distraction. It is what it is.

It sounds like she might have someone waiting back home. Someone who thinks she’s dead. Someone who may have moved on by now, mated even, and she’d have no way of knowing.

It has to be hard on her.

I round the corner, and Brian almost walks into me.

He grins. “Morning, boss.”

Why is he here? He lives on the other side of the living quarters.

“What is it?” I bark, taking out my frustration on him.

“How is…?” he drops his voice, “you-know-who doing?” His eyes sparkle.

I look up and down the hallway, which is empty. It doesn’t matter.

“We’re not talking about it. Not out here.”

“Why not?” he asks.

“Because no one can find out about her, you dipshit. Why are you even asking? It’s got fuck-all to do with you.”

“No one is listening to us. No one is anywhere near us.” He leans in. “I thought I would check in. What is she like?”

“What the fuck are you talking about?” I practically growl.

“I’m in love, Flint.” He presses a hand to his chest. “I’m in complete and total love with Star,” he whispers.

“You don’t even know her,” I whisper-shout because what the actual fuck?
