He looks up. “Well done. You brought another one in, I hear.”

I nod.

He takes his glasses off. “The changes you implemented are working.”

“For now.” I nod. “We will have to keep changing it up. Two things…” I say.

“Sit.” He gestures to a chair.

“No time. I want to get some food down the hatch before we fly back out for the afternoon.”

Pryce nods. “Okay. What do you need?”

“I want to put up a screen or a wall that separates male from female shifters.”

He frowns.

“We have two females on the team now. There might be more who join us in the future. I think it would be best if we kept everyone separate for when the shifts occur.”

“Are any of the males being inappropriate?” Pryce puts his glasses back on.

“No…it’s just…there’s a lot of testosterone. We also have a human male on the team.”

Pryce gasps. “Is Brian—?”

“No, no…he’s fine.” I don’t want the male getting into trouble over this. “He isn’t a shifter, though. We might hire more humans in the future. I just think it would be the right thing to do. I spoke to Rift about it, and she agreed. She said it would be great if they could have some privacy.”

“Okay, then. I’ll have maintenance put up something temporary while we draw up the plans. Anything else?”

I hand him the paperwork. “I’m conducting a night training tonight. I’m taking the newbie along.”

His brows shoot up. “Really?” He takes the glasses off, folding them. “Surely that’s risky?”

I shake my head. “Not at all. She’s highly qualified for this role. I want her in the deep end. I’ll probably take her a few times while she’s still a trainee. Let’s see what she’s made of.”

“Okay.” He shrugs. “It’s your department. You do what you think is best.”

“Thank you. I will see you later.”

“Yes.”

I head out, breathing a sigh of relief.

I need that screen up before I snarl at someone. Or fire someone’s ass for eyeballing Star.

I also need to get a grip.

I’m on the pad ten minutes early. It’s dark and very humid.

When Flint messaged me earlier to tell me we’re going on “night training,” I could hardly believe it.

I know it isn’t really night training. I was expecting to hear from him soon about Holt, but not this soon.

I’m nervous and excited. We’re going after my ex-boss. We’re finally doing something to find those responsible for what happened five years ago.
