Cannon
Correct. I had to do some training with Coach this morning, so I’m leaving for the airport now.
Bass
I know it’s tough timing with the world championship finals in a week. I appreciate you making this effort, Cannon.
Cannon
I wouldn’t miss Jovi’s graduation for the world. Leaving now.
Phoenix
That lucky bastard will probably just make it and stroll right on the plane.
Cannon
That lucky bastard can hear you.
Phoenix
Don’t text and drive, dumbass.
Cannon
Coach is driving me, so I don’t have to park. It’ll make it faster.
Cutler
The airport is pretty dead, and we made good time on the drive. It’s still early, you’ll be fine.
Bass
Well, I want you guys to know that I really appreciate you all showing up for my sister.
Cutler
Dude, this is a big moment. You’ve been raising that girl since she was a teenager, and she did it. She’s graduating top of her class. Take all that shit in, brother.
I thought over his words. It had been a journey, and not an easy one. I’d taken custody of Jovi when I was just a college kid. She went with me out to New York while I attended cooking school, and she finished up high school during that time. A million things could’ve gone wrong, but she stayed the course. She’d always had a strong head on her shoulders, and I was beyond proud of her.
Yeah. I’m definitely up in my feels.
Cannon
You sure looked up in your feels with your nemesis a few nights ago.
I wouldn’t call her my nemesis anymore. She’s…a business associate.
Cannon
A business associate, my ass. I saw the way you looked at her.
Cutler
Dude, I have to agree on this one. Is there something going on there?
