A taste.

A… release.

Blood rushes through my ears, and before I notice, my hands are no longer hitting him but pulling him towards me; my fingers curl into the fabric of his shirt.

His gaze searches mine again, briefly, and the intensity of his green eyes behind the leather mask makes me swallow.

He seems content with what he finds there, because immediately after it drops to my mouth again, and there, it lingers.

Heat blooms beneath my skin, replacing the fire that had been consuming me moments ago with something quieter and far more dangerous.

Not wrath anymore, but need.

Desire.

The silence grows heavier between us until I feel his forehead is close enough to mine that all I’d have to do is lean forward.

He doesn’t move. And neither do I.

Doesn’t kiss me. And neither do I.

Doesn’t even lean in. And neither do I.

He waits for something, and my pulse only pounds harder.

The space between us feels impossibly small, and the ache in my center only grows.

Fuck.

My fingers tighten around his shirt, his breath catches almost imperceptibly, and I’m fully aware of him.

His smell. His body. How his chest rises and falls beneath my hands.

Still… He waits.

But I don’t. Not anymore.

Instead of forgetting how to breathe, I forget everything that doesn’t belong in this moment and make the distance disappear.

With one deep breath, I move forward, my nose brushes his, and his lips finally taste mine.

Fabien

She’s been awake for five minutes.

Five whole minutes, and he already had her wet, screaming, crying, and now he’s kissing her.

I’m not sure if I should be happy about it or aroused.

Neither, probably. I should be worried. Isaac is on the brink of losing his mind, Slash is playing with fire, and I’m the only one with a functioning head on his shoulders right now.

Too bad I don’t feel like being the responsible one today.

This is wrong. Wrong in more ways than I have the patience to count. And yet I can’t find it in me to interrupt them. Can’t make myself do the right thing, which would be pulling everyone back into the office for a conversation about next steps and consequences and the very real possibility that we’ve destroyed our careers tonight.

Instead I’m standing in the hallway with a clear line of sight into the living room and absolutely no intention of moving.
