After a brief pause, a bright smile lit up her face. “Okay, I’ll trust you to see this thing through. But I want to meet her soon, Christian.” She kissed my cheek and walked away, leaving no room for an argument.

Once she walked away, I breathed a sigh of relief. That was twice now I have gotten off easier than expected. The third would not be a charm.

I was at home watching a football game when my phone rang. I picked it up and saw Brit’s name on the screen, with a picture I had taken of her. When I took the picture, we were sitting on Kira's couch watching a movie. She was dressed in a simple lounge set, her face free of makeup, and her curly hair pulled into a high ponytail. And she was still drop-dead gorgeous.

“What’s up, beautiful?” I answered.

“Christiannn,” she whined.

My dick perked up hearing her say my name like that. My God, what I would do to have her say my name like that while I was buried deep inside her.

“What is it, Brit?”

“Kira and I tried making your baked ziti, but it came out terribly. Can you please come make me some more?” she asked. I could tell by the sound of her voice that she was pouting.

“Is that all you want me for, beautiful?”

“No,” she replied instantly. “I want to see you too. It’s been two days and… I miss you.”

I was grinning like a fool. I had been missing her like crazy too. It was good to know I wasn’t the only one feeling it. Between Brit setting up her new suite and Blade and I dealing with interviews for the club, our schedules hadn’t been aligning.

“I miss you too, baby.” I checked my watch and saw it was a little after five. “Give me an hour to go to the store, and then I’ll be on my way.”

“Okay!” she cheered happily. “I’ll see you soon!”

I got up and turned everything off before heading to the garage. I scanned my vehicles, debating which one to take for the day. Besides my Camaro and bike, I had a Chevy Silverado, a G-Wagon, and a Lamborghini Urus.

When I built my house, I made sure my garage could fit up to eight cars. A nice automobile is my weakness. All my siblings swore I was the flashiest one out of all of us. When it came to cars, I wouldn’t even argue against that.

After thinking it over, I went with my G-Wagon. Once I was buckled in, I backed out of my garage. As I was making my way up the dirt trail, Axel was outside his home, wiping down his bike. When he saw me, he flagged me down.

Stopping in front of his home, I let my window down. “Yeah?”

“Where you headed to?”

“Umm, to see Brit. Why?” I tilted my head in confusion. Axel wasn’t necessarily nosy like this. That was normally Thor.

“She lives with Kira, right?”

“Yes, she does. Why do you as… ohhh, I get it.” I laughed, finally realizing where his line of questioning was coming from.

“Yeah, Kira's been playing hard to get. We’ve been messaging each other on Instagram, but every time I mention meeting up, she leaves me on read.”

I didn’t understand why Kira was acting like she wasn’t interested because every time I was over there, she asked about Axel. I knew exactly what Axel wanted from me, and I was going to look out for my brother.

“Well, go get dressed and come on.”

Axel grinned wickedly, dapped me up, and ran inside his house. Twenty minutes later, he was in my car, and we were on our way to the grocery store.

It took thirty minutes to shop for all the ingredients I needed. It would’ve been faster if Axel hadn’t been clowning me. He couldn’t believe I was cooking for Brittney. This was out of character for me, but I also hadn’t been this serious with a woman in a long time.

When I finally knocked on the door to Kira’s apartment, I was cheesing from ear to ear. Axel stood next to me, shaking his head. Brit opened the door, showcasing that beautiful smile. When her eyes landed on Axel, they widened before she doubled over with laughter.

“Kira is going to kill you,” she said to me.

I shrugged my shoulders. “If she kills me, she won’t get any pasta.”

Brit stepped back, letting us into the apartment. Kira came out of her room talking, but her face was down as she typed on her phone.
