“I am,” I answered hesitantly.

She smiled brightly at me. “That’s cool. Do you like it?”

“One of the best decisions I ever made.” My eyes roamed all over her. I couldn’t help it. Brit fidgeted with her fingers before tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. “Damn, you’re a sight for sore eyes, beautiful. You think your husband can get a hug?”

She let out a nervous giggle as she blushed and nodded. Pulling her toward me, I wrapped my arms around her waist. She stood on her tiptoes to wrap her arms around my neck. That familiar honey scent filled my nostrils. We held each other for a minute before we let go.

“Come on, beautiful, let’s get a table.” I grabbed her hand and led her inside.

Once we were seated, I could barely get a word out as all the staff spoke, passing by.

Brit sat across from me with a raised brow. “You must come here a lot.”

I nodded my head. “I do, but the club owns this place as well. So, most of the staff know all the brothers.”

As if something just dawned on her, she snapped her fingers. “I don’t know why I didn’t catch on in Vegas. I kept wondering why you all were referring to each other with those weird names.”

I tilted my head with a grin. “You think my road name is weird?”

Brittney tittered before shaking her head. “Okay, not weird, but I know your mother did not name you Torch.”

Before I could respond, one of the waitresses, Yasmine, approached our table. “Hey, Torch. It’s been too long since we’ve seen your face around here.” She gave me a flirty smile while turning her back to Brittney, completely ignoring her presence.

I saw the uncomfortable look on Brit’s face, and it pissed me off. Yasmine was another woman who wouldn’t take no for an answer. She had never flat-out come on to me, but she had thrown out some hints over the past year. I knew for a fact that Yasmine normally worked the bar area, so she probably swindled her way into taking my booth.

“Yes, I know. I’ve been a little busy. But my date and I are ready to start off with our drinks and appetizer.”

The smile fell from Yasmine’s face before she turned to Brit with an annoyed expression. “What can I get ya’?” she asked with way less enthusiasm.

Brit’s head reared back, and a frown formed on her face. Now, I had gone from pissed to livid. I never wanted to be the reason someone lost their job, but I didn’t tolerate these kinds of games. Yasmine was acting as if she had some kind of claim on me.

“Is this your idea of customer service?” My voice was calm, but I knew my face was giving away how pissed I was. Yasmine opened her mouth, but I cut her off before she said anything. “Because I can tell you, this is not it.”

Yasmine appeared at a loss for words. “You’re right, and I apologize.” She plastered a fake smile on her face. “What can I get you to drink? Would you like any appetizers?”

After we placed our order, Brittney looked at me strangely. “Have you two—”

I shook my head immediately. “Never. I don’t mix business and pleasure. Ever.”

She adjusted herself in her seat. “You sure? Because that woman was acting like I was out with her man.”

“Beautiful, the only person I belong to is you.” I bit my lip, staring into her eyes. After a few seconds, she blushed and looked away. I noticed it tonight and in Vegas. Anytime I gazed into her eyes for too long, she would get shy and look away. It’s like she couldn’t take the intensity behind them. “Do I make you nervous, Brit?”

She licked her plump lips before letting her eyes fall on me again. “Honestly, yes.”

“But why?”

Her shoulders hunched as her eyes fell to her lap. “I don’t know.”

I placed my arms on the table and leaned forward. “Can I take a guess?” I asked. She lifted her head and nodded. “You like me. A lot. And that confuses you because we technically only knew each other for ten hours. But let me tell you something, beautiful. You’re not the only one feeling that way.”

She huffed out a breath. “But we got married, Christian.”

The way she said my name made my dick twitch. I had to control myself because this was not the time. Brit was sexy and alluring without even trying. What made her more attractive was the fact that I don’t think she knew just how sexy she was.

“That we did.”

“So, what are we going to do?”
