“I’m not recasting anything.”

“You cataloged what she did inside her home.”

Owen’s eyes narrow.

Ash looks at me again, pausing briefly at the torn seam on my shoulder before returning to my face.

Owen catches it. “You want to know what I saw.”

Ash looks at him. “Yes.”

“How much?”

Ash’s hand settles against the edge of the doorway. “Everything you kept.”

Owen gives a quiet laugh.

“You find that amusing?” Ash asks.

“I find you predictable.”

“You had months.”

“You built an attraction around her.”

“That comparison is inaccurate.”

“Because yours had a ticket?”

Ash crosses the rest of the room and stops close enough that Owen would have to brush him to leave the cabinets.

I let the tension stretch before looking at Owen. “Tell him.”

Ash’s eyes sharpen.

Owen waits. “Which part?”

I keep looking at Ash. “Tell him about the bra.”

Ash turns toward Owen.

Owen’s mouth almost curves. “She takes it off through her shirt when she edits late.”

Ash starts to glance toward my damaged jacket and catches himself.

His hand closes once at his side.

“Continue.”

Owen watches him fight the impulse to look. “There’s plenty more.”

Ash looks back at the wall.

“You do not get to be angry because he watched first,” I say.

His shoulders remain squared toward Owen. “I’m angry because he preserved it.”
