“Maybe.” He gave my neck a playful bite, then dragged the sweater up my torso and over my head. It joined our pile of clothes on the floor.

Alejandro kissed along my neck to my shoulder and tugged the strap of my bra down with his teeth. “Undressing you always feels like unwrapping a gift.”

“Except you already know what’s underneath.”

“The woman I’ve dreamed of all my life.”

I angled my head so I could see him. “I’m already impressed, Mr. Guerrero. No need to use cute lines with me.”

“Not a line.” He unclasped my bra. “The truth. Who would’ve thought I’d owe my happiness to that job interview?”

“Your happiness? I’m pretty sure you meant mine.”

He dragged my bra down my arms and tossed it aside. “No. Mine. I thought I had it all. Turns out I didn’t. Not even close.”

He turned me around in his arms, the green in his eyes taking on a darker shade as he took me in. A shiver ran through me as he trailed his fingertips over my breasts. “You’re perfect.”

“You’re not so bad yourself.”

He popped the button of my jeans open, one corner of his mouth lifting. “Gracias, amor.”

“I love it when you call me that,” I said. His other confession still replayed in my brain, but I didn’t want to bring it up. Maybe he hadn’t meant to say it. Maybe he was just worried about me, and it slipped out. Not that I needed words when he showed me he cared in a thousand gestures every day.

“I love calling you that,” Ale said, pushing both my jeans and panties down. After I stripped him of his underwear, we got in the tub. Water sloshed as he sat me between his legs and wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

“Good?” he asked, uncapping the bottle of shampoo we’d brought.

I hummed, closing my eyes. “Perfect. Everything is with you.”

He massaged shampoo into my wet hair, fingers working over my scalp. After rinsing it out, he pushed my hair back. I turned, facing him. “My turn. Will you let me?”

Alejandro smiled. “Sure.”

I lathered some shampoo on my palm, then slid my hands through his hair. He hummed, eyes closed. “I think I have a new favorite thing.”

I turned on the shower, rinsing off the suds. “I love it when you touch me. Figured you would, too.”

Alejandro swallowed, pressing the back of my hand to his mouth. “Te amo.” Then, as if he wasn’t sure I’d understood, he added, “I love you.”

My eyes misted over, my chest full of affection, tenderness, and hope. I cupped his stubbled cheek, searching for words that wouldn’t come.

I felt that way too. And it scared me because it had taken so little time to become so completely wrapped up in him.

Green eyes studied me, patient. I edged forward until my breasts pressed to his chest. Our lips met in a kiss that felt like the first one did—careful. Slow.

The tip of Ale’s tongue slid against the seam of my lips, seeking entrance. I opened for him, surrendering to his heat. A moan slipped out as he fondled my breast, never stopping the kiss. Warmth pooled between my legs. I found him with my hand, squeezing as our mouths moved together.

I smoothed a thumb over his tip; he moaned low in his throat, hips surging forward as he claimed my mouth once more. I guided his hand between my legs. He brushed his fingers over my pussy, and a jolt of pleasure shot through my core.

“I want you,” I whispered against his mouth. “Right now.”

He cupped my ass, hoisting me up, then stilled. “Fuck, the condoms. I might have some in my bag.”

“I’m on birth control,” I whispered. “We don’t need to. Unless you want to.”

Ale traced my collarbone with his fingers, then they dipped to my nipples, drawing circles around the tightened peaks. “I want you, Nova. So fucking much. Come here. Let me love you.”

I straddled him, holding my breath as he positioned himself at my entrance. I’d never done it like this—never wanted to, but I did, with him. I wanted to feel him. Know what it’d be like to have nothing between us.
