Pleasure brewed deep in my core, swelling the longer he moved.

“You’re almost there,” he rasped in my ear, spreading my wetness over my clit. “Come for me now. Let go.”

I clamped around him, gasping. Pleasure burst like dozens of fireworks, flooding me with heat.

Alejandro kept moving. Kept kissing me. I sucked his tongue into my mouth, my pussy clenching around his cock with the aftershocks of my orgasm.

His thrusts turned sloppy. His control slipped, and he moaned, slamming into me. A tremor rolled through his body as he came.

For a moment, there was nothing but our heavy breaths. He rolled us over and cradled me to his chest like I was precious.

“How are you feeling?” he asked, brushing my damp hair away from my face.

I kissed his pec. “Like this vacation can’t get any better.”

His soft chuckle rumbled against my ear. “I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself. Give me a moment, okay?”

He moved me aside gently and went to the en suite. While I waited, I grabbed the pouch with our seashell necklaces from the nightstand and pulled them out, watching the moonlight reflect off the tiny golden charms.

Alejandro re-entered the room. The mattress dipped as he lay beside me.

I ran the pad of my thumb over the seashells. “Look how pretty. I think I’ll go back and buy a bracelet too.”

“I’ll buy you one.” He touched the letter N. “Will you mind if I take this one for myself?”

My heart beat in my throat. “You want the necklace with my name?”

He nodded. “Might look great with my suits.”

Warmth swathed my cheeks. “Only if you let me wear the other one.”

“I’ll be honored,” he said, skimming his thumb over my jaw.

I put the necklace with the letter N on his palm. He closed his fingers around it and leaned in.

Warm lips brushed my cheek. “Gracias, amor.” Thank you, love.

CHAPTER FORTY

Alejandro

January

Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

Isipped my coffee, standing by the infinity pool as the sun rose over the ocean, welcoming a new day. My thirty-fifth birthday. For the first time, I’d spend it with the woman who made me happier than I’d ever been. She was still sound asleep in our bed. I’d rather be beside her, but my worries wouldn’t let me rest.

I wanted to face her after clearing my mind of everything that wasn’t us.

The imminent start of the racing season. My meeting with the PI as soon as we were back from vacation. All of that could wait. These last two days here belonged to us.

As I took the last sip of my drink, the kitchen door slid open. Nova stepped onto the deck in a silky white robe, carrying a wrapped gift.

I stared at her like I always did, except now, I didn’t need to hide.

A smile stretched her pink lips as she advanced toward me. “Happy birthday, Ale,” she said, handing me the gift.

I took it and wrapped her in my arms, my heart so full it felt like it might burst. “Gracias, amor.”
