She shook her head. “Not the words.”

He closed his eyes. She was right. Not the words. He was an idiot.

He opened his eyes and cupped her face, his thumb catching the tears as they slipped down her cheeks. “I love you, Lisa Garcia. Please don’t leave me.”

“You really don’t want me to leave.”

“Fuck no.”

She stared up at him, searching. Then finally, as if she saw something that made sense to her, she spoke. “Okay, I won’t leave,” she whispered.

Raiden bent slowly, watching every expression that passed over her face. She pushed against his chest and he lifted up. “What?”

“I love you too, Raiden Sato. I love you so much,” her chin trembled.

“That’s a good thing,” he smiled.

“I don’t know. I want this so badly, I’m afraid it won’t happen, that I’ll mess it up.”

“You’re Wonder Woman, you’re not going to mess this up.”

“I—”

His lips covered hers, and she trembled as her lips parted to allow his tongue access. She melted against him and he rejoiced. Not giving her a second to start overthinking things, he swept her up into his arms and walked up the stairs to her room, not breaking the kiss. Even when he laid her down onto her perfectly made bed, his lips never left hers.

Her hands were in his hair, pulling, tugging. The little sounds she was making sent sparks shooting straight to his cock. He knew he had to slow things down, but fucking-A, he was not going to let her slip through his fingers.

Lisa’s legs twisted against Raiden’s, trying to get closer, also trying to alleviate an overwhelming ache. Raiden lifted his head and looked down at her, his eyelids lowered, his eyes glittering. She’d never felt so turned on in her life.

“Honey, we need to slow down,” his voice was a low rumble.

“No,” she didn’t want anything to stop this feeling. Nothing.

He cupped her face. “Honey…” That’s all he said, that one word.

Her tummy flipped and she bit her lip.

“Raiden, I’m feeling things I’ve never felt before, I want to go with it, I want to fly with you.”

“And we will, but this is your first time, isn’t it?”

She opened her mouth, saw his fierce gaze, then nodded.

“So we go slow. We make sure there are no ghosts, and if you have any problems, anything that pops up, you let me know, okay?”

A warm syrupy feeling filled her body. Not hot, warm, and oh so nice. Now she felt safe. God, this man. Then she peeked up at him under her bangs. “Now can we round all of the bases?”

She felt his body shake with laughter.

“I’m serious Raiden. You told me you love me. And you actually meant it, didn’t you.” It wasn’t a question, it was a statement. He nodded his head.

She moved her hands, sliding them away from his neck, down his chest, wiggling further down until she started to pull up the sides of his t-shirt.

“Lisa—”

She bit his shoulder over his t-shirt and he groaned. She pressed her advantage and pulled his shirt up farther. When she had gotten it as high as his armpits, she started to stroke the warm silken flesh of his back.
