I was a dick for suggesting a friends-with-benefits situation with her, but I was horny as hell for this woman. I hadn’t been with anyone since her. I liked that she didn’t care about hockey or tried to impress me with her ‘hockey knowledge.’ Plus, she was hot with her colorful hair and tattoos, and she liked to be spanked in bed. I definitely wanted to do that again.

A LOT.

“If we’re gonna fake date, we need to post pictures together on social media,” I suggested.

“Oh, I’m not on social media.”

“Really?” I asked incredulously. I was most active on Instagram, but I didn’t post all that much. I didn’t even read the thirsty messages in my DMs anymore.

“I manage the accounts for the shop, of course, but I don’t have a personal account.”

That might be for the best. My sister and my sister-in-law dealt with their fair share of cyberbullying because of their relationships with hockey players. We were public figures, and puck bunnies were a thing, but it bothered me that the women in our lives got hate because we were with them.

“C’mere,” I ordered.

“What?” she asked and furrowed her brow.

I patted my lap. “Come over here.”

She hesitated, but then she stood up and walked over to me. I pulled her into my lap and wrapped my arms around her waist. “Why did you want me to do this?” she asked.

I took my phone out and hit the camera button. “So we can take a selfie together.”

I kissed her temple and took the picture. I pulled back from her, but she didn’t move off my lap, rather curled into my neck. I went into the app, selected my filters, adjusted the photo, and wrote a mindless caption. ‘Glad to be playing in Philly, so I’m never missing my girl again.’ I watched the heart notifications come in almost instantly, and I set my phone down on the table.

Veronica pulled back to look at me. “Should we talk about our story?”

I nodded. “I told my teammates we’ve been casually hooking up, and now we’re giving it a go.”

“Okay, good plan. I need to tell Olivia the truth. Is that okay?”

“Whose Olivia?” I asked.

“My best friend. The shop receptionist,” she explained. “She seemed hurt today when she found out we were dating. I tell her everything.”

“Okay…she won’t say anything, right?”

She shook her head, the black and red strands bouncing against my jaw.

I pushed one of those strands behind her ear and rubbed my thumb across her cheek. God, this woman drove me wild, but I had to remember this was all pretend. I just got out of a ten-year relationship, and I wasn’t trying to get into another one. But if she was into it, I would be okay with having a little fun. I never had a fuck buddy before, but there was always room to figure it out.

“Blaise…” she breathed.

“Tell me to stop,” I said as I fisted her hair and slanted my mouth onto the side of her neck.

“Mmm…” she moaned and tipped her head back to give me more access.

“Tell me,” I breathed in her ear. I shifted so she was straddling my thighs, and my other hand went to her ass.

“No…” she moaned.

“No what, V?” I asked.

“Don’t stop,” she begged.

My cock thickened against my leg, and she had to feel it pressed up against her spread thighs. She looked so hot in that plaid skirt; I wanted to bend her over and fuck her from behind in it. I gripped her hair harder, and she cried out at the sensation while I finally pressed my lips to hers.

She kissed me back roughly, biting my bottom lip and grinding herself against me. Our tongues battled each other, and she slid her hands around the back of my neck, one hand plunged into my short hair. At that moment, I missed having my long hockey flow. I loved getting my hair gripped hard in the throes of passion.
