Sammy nodded solemnly. “Pussy motivated, sir.”
I snorted.
Graves stared at him for a beat. “Of course you are.”
“Positive reinforcement works wonders.”
Even Graves looked like he was fighting a smile before his attention returned to me. “And one more thing.”
The sudden shift had me immediately suspicious.
“Farm Boy says you like submission.”
My lips parted.
The faintest hint of amusement touched his mouth. “You won’t get that from me.”
The challenge in his voice lit a fire inside me. I leaned closer, until my words barely had any distance to travel between us.
“I like to fight too.”
For a second, I thought he might kiss me. Instead, he leaned in, his mouth brushing close to my ear.
“Good,” he murmured. “Then we understand each other.”
He eased back just enough to look between Hayes and me, seeming to consider us both one final time. Whatever he found must have satisfied him, because the tension in his expression finally gave way to decision.
His hand gave my thigh one last squeeze.
“Good. Then it’s settled.” His eyes moved to Hayes before returning to me. “You’re both mine.”
There it was. Not a question. Not even a discussion, apparently. Nolan Graves had gathered the available information, reached a conclusion, and issued his fucking ruling.
The words should’ve pissed me off.
Instead, I had to fight the ridiculous urge to smile.
Grizzly climbed off the bed and stood, somehow slipping back into bossy mode as though he hadn’t just informed two of his recruits that they belonged to him.
“Now get back to your room,” he ordered.
He pointed at Hayes. “Patch your lip.”
“Yes, sir.”
Then Graves looked at me. “You’re both due on the training course early as fuck.”
His mouth curved into a wicked and knowing smile. “Your instructor won’t be happy if you’re late.”
I stared at him. “My instructor sounds like an asshole.”
“He is.”
Sammy pushed himself off the floor beside me. “Can confirm, sir.”
Graves pointed toward the door. “Get the fuck out.”
Sammy immediately started walking. “Yes, sir.”
