Me:

Yesterday, our new intern asked me if our jellyfish are vegans, because if not, he can’t work with them.

Iris:

I don’t even know what to say to that.

Anna:

Are they? Vegan, I mean.

Me:

No. They’re carnivores and eat small fish, zooplankton, and occasionally other jellyfish, although we don’t feed them that.

Cora:

Please tell me you gave him some smart-ass response.

Me:

At first, I just stared at him because I thought he was joking.

Gale:

I think you need a new intern.

Me:

I offered him the manatees instead, because those are vegetarians. He declined.

Anna:

Why? That seems like a great alternative, and manatees are cute.

Me:

He said he didn’t like their aggressive vibes.

Iris:
