“Since the girls have a book club…” Anderson took a seat across from me, and Captain Sushi was quick to claim his lap. “I thought we could start one ourselves. Doesn’t that sound fun?”

“Finally.” Parker sat up. “I’ve been saying this for two years, and nobody listens. You want to understand women? Read what they read. It’s not complicated.” He raised his arms in defeat, trying to drive the point home. “It’s a shame no one wants to learn my ways,” he added, his tone turning overly dramatic.

“Are you trying to start a playboys club or something?” Morgan asked dryly.

Parker threw him a grin. “Maybe. Want to join?”

Morgan settled him with a dry look. “Sure,” he replied, sarcastically. “Because I so look the type to be a manwhore.”

“That’s what the cause is for,” Parker replied with a duh tone. “I’m the president—”

“Hayes is the vice president,” Anderson added casually.

Parker nodded. “Naturally.”

“Hey!” I frowned. “I haven’t even slept with anyone since last season.”

Every pair of eyes landed on me. The chatter quieted down so fast, you could hear a pin drop.

“Why the hell are all of you looking at me like that?” I looked around the room, trying to figure out why the fuck they were all staring at me like I’d grown a third head.

“You haven’t slept with anyone, like, at all?” Donovan asked, his face stunned.

“Nope.”

Oh, so we’re going to skim over the fact that you and Olivia messed around less than two weeks ago? my brain mocked.

Messed around was a strong term. After successfully checking two things off her sex list, I retreated to my room and fucked my hand as I licked the little arousal that coated my fingers like a sick fuck while I replayed the images of Olivia, splayed out on my couch, with her pierced nipples and her swollen, slick pussy.

I’d never come so hard in my life.

I couldn’t get the images out of my head, and to be quite frank, I didn’t want to forget.

“Are you sick or something?” my best friend joked.

The words cut through me like ice water. Guilt crept in quietly. If only he fucking knew the truth.

Parker checked my temperature with the back of his hand. “No fever.”

Anderson tilted his head with a deep frown. “You sure?”

Parker tried to check again, but I pushed him away. “Get the fuck away from me.”

“Feisty.” Parker wiggled his brows. “You’ve been spending too much time with Olivia. Her personality is rubbing off on you.” His eyes glinted with mischief, and it took everything in me not to punch him in the throat.

“What?!” My voice broke through at a high pitch. “No, I haven’t. Why would you even say that?” My laugh was borderline manic. “That’s an odd thing to say.”

Real smooth, asshole.

Anderson’s cold blue eyes narrowed, and the look alone shrank me down to nothing. “Why are you acting so weird?”

“I am not,” I challenged.

“Yes, you are,” Donovan, Parker, and Morgan said in unison.

My eyes settled on Owens with a silent plea. “I’m not acting weird, am I?”

“No comment.” He grabbed his phone and started typing away, completely ignoring the rest of us.
