“I’m full of surprises.”

“No, Wesley.” She rolled her eyes. “I think you’re just a kinky guy.”

Another laugh bubbled out of me, and she matched it.

My heart contracted in my chest at the look on her face, her eyes crinkling as she laughed freely.

And I wondered then how this wonderful woman had become one of the most important people in my life in such a short amount of time.

THIRTY-THREE

WESLEY

YOU’RE WELCOME, MOTHERFUCKER.

A few days later, I was parking in front of Donovan’s house, since he was hosting team dinner, when Olivia asked, “Are you ever going to give me your mom’s potato salad recipe?”

“And be violently killed by her if she ever finds out?” I let out a sharp laugh. “No, thank you.”

“But we’re dating now!” she exclaimed. “Shouldn’t that get me some privileges?”

I hopped out of the car, walked around it, and opened her door. “You have tons of privileges. Some very good orgasms being one of them.” I wiggled my eyebrows as a sleazy smirk played on my lips.

She choked on her own saliva then hit me in the arm as she frantically looked around. “Someone could hear you,” she whispered-shouted.

I let out a low chuckle as I wrapped my hands around her waist and squeezed slightly. “Let them.”

She arched one of her perfectly sculpted brows. “Let’s see if you keep this same energy if my brother finds out.”

That was enough to make my body break out in hives. “Okay, point proven.”

I grabbed the potato salad off the tailgate, and we headed up to Donovan’s door. Before she could knock, I caught her chin with two fingers and tipped her face up toward mine. She frowned, confused—and I kissed her before she could say a word.

She let out a content sigh against my lips, and I smiled as one of my hands cupped her jaw and I deepened the kiss. She grabbed a fistful of my shirt, like we were too far apart for her liking and she wanted to fix the problem. I exhaled against her mouth at the way every nerve ending lit up at the taste of her. My tongue traced the seam of her lips, and she opened for me. A quiet, satisfied groan escaped my lips that she easily swallowed with her intoxicating kisses.

Our bodies tensed when we someone cleared their throat. We both turned. Parker was standing on the walkway behind us, arms crossed, lips pulled into a smirk like he’d been enjoying himself.

I cleared my throat. “What up, Parker?”

He looked between us. “I’ve been standing here for like thirty seconds, by the way.”

“No, you haven’t,” I said.

“More like forty-five,” he sighed, approaching us. “Your shirt has a lipstick stain, by the way.”

I looked down, alarmed, and frowned when I didn’t find anything.

“Ha. Made you look.”

Olivia stifled a laugh. “I’m not even wearing lipstick.”

I glared at Parker. “Get fucked.”

He laughed then knocked on the door, and Aurora answered a minute later. She let us in without a word of greeting, just a triumphant, “Aha!” as she swiped the container right out of my hands, looped her arm through Olivia’s, and towed her toward the kitchen.

Parker let out a low whistle. “You let Aurora steal the potato salad and your girl?”

“Hayes brought a girl?” Anderson materialized from somewhere behind us.
