The pies, brownies, and cookies disappeared over the following couple hours. They had more than a dozen specialty cake orders along with several demands to fill regular orders of donuts or breakfast items for businesses in town.

“I’d say that was a success.” Maggie turned to Becca when the last customer walked out the door.

Becca flipped the lock on the door and turned off the open sign.

“How am I going to do this tomorrow without you?” Becca asked.

Maggie laughed. “Please, I basically just stood here and took payments. You have two fully trained employees who start work tomorrow to do just that. Not to mention Kelly, your full-time baker, who kicked butt today. You’ve got this.”

Becca smiled. “How can I ever repay you?”

“By sending me my cut each week,” Maggie joked.

Becca walked over and hugged her. “Thank you,” she said softly. “For believing in me.”

Maggie held onto her cousin. “You’re freaking wonder woman.” She laughed. “No, you’re Rambo,” she corrected, knowing their new nickname for her cousin would stick with them for life.

“Rambo.” Becca laughed.

Just then there was a knock on the glass doors. They both looked over to see Rick standing there, holding a bouquet of flowers.

“Are you going to let us in?” he asked.

“Us?” Maggie asked, rushing over to unlock the doors.

Rick motioned to Colton, who also had a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

“For you,” Rick said, handing the flowers to Maggie.

“And for you,” Colton added, handing his to Becca.

“They’re perfect,” Maggie said, burying her face in the brightly colored flowers.

Rick glanced around. “You wouldn’t know where a guy could get a slice of pie around here, would you?”

Maggie laughed and motioned for him to take a seat.

“That sounds good,” Colton said, and Becca laughed too.

“Pie all around,” Maggie cheered. “There’s one in the back I was saving just for celebration.”

The four of them sat around a table, eating pie, and talking about how Rick and she were heading home the following morning.

“We’re going to miss you,” Becca said, holding up her iced tea glass.

“You can always come to visit anytime. Our new house should be ready in a few months,” Rick said, holding up his glass.

“Besides, were thinking of having a fall wedding,” Maggie added with a wink.

“This fall?” Rick asked, then he laughed. “Why wait so long? Let’s hitch a ride to Vegas—”

“Don’t you dare,” Becca said with a frown.

Maggie laughed. “Nope, I want a large wedding at Saddleback, surrounded by family and friends.”

“I happen to know a very accomplished wedding cake designer, if you need one.” Becca nudged her.

“You’re hired,” Maggie said, hugging her cousin.
