“Fuck off.” I groan again and try to turn away from the garish sunshine.
Lucas is the manager for Ravaged. He’s been with us since we signed our first record deal years ago. Lucas can sometimes be a complete asshole with his trademark honesty and all his responsible-ness, but he’s essentially the glue that keeps the band together and running like a world-class record-selling machine. Without Lucas and his ability to untie any tricky knot that flings our way, we wouldn’t be a band at this point, despite how much I want to kill him sometimes. He works us boys like a racehorse, and it seems like today it is my turn to face the end of Lucas’ famous fiery rod of discipline.
Lying naked under the sheets next to me, a girl sleepily moans. I forget which one she is from last night, let alone her name. I think I remember her legs around mine at some point in the early morning. There are currently three girls in my bed right now, and I don’t have a clue who any of them are, even though I was fucking all three simultaneously mere hours ago.
“Alright, girls, you’ve had your fun,” Lucas says in his loud, no-nonsense managerial voice. “You all have to leave now. Axel has got to get up. The rockstar has to do what he’s paid obscene amounts of money for and work. For a change.”
I feel warm female bodies around me lazily shift. It appears to me that they aren’t leaving any time soon.
“Give us another minute, Lucas,” I protest. “I still need my morning blowjob.”
Lucas completely ignores me.
“Get out, girls, or I’m suing your asses into the next century.”
Now, that gets them moving. Regrettably, I feel their comforting warmth slide out of my bed. I groan again.
Man, I really wanted that morning blowjob.
“Don’t go, girls,” I implore, but it’s too fucking late. Lucas has frightened them straight out of the hotel suite like a flock of panicked seagulls. They’re gone, and so are my chances of getting my dick wet this morning. “Fuck.”
“Fuck, indeed,” Lucas says, turning his attention back to me. “It’s time for you, young man, to get up.”
I shield my face from the morning glare and stare at the man defiantly standing at the end of my bed. He’s got short blonde hair that’s slowly graying, and tired rings under his eyes despite being in his mid-thirties. Being Ravaged’s manager is a stressful job, and it shows on Lucas. Drake’s told me the man hasn’t been on a date for years. I can’t even remember Lucas’ last boyfriend; he’s been single for that long. Married to the job and all that. Despite all the shit that he deals out to me on a daily basis, I can’t help but love the old bastard and his devotion to Ravaged’s success.
“Stop pretending to be so old and wise,” I say with a just-awake crack in my voice. I really went hard on the drink last night. God, it was fun. Right until Lucas set foot in this room. “You’re not even ten years older than me, Lucas.”
He mockingly snorts. “That still makes me your elder, so you should listen to me.”
“Well, I have about a hundred million more dollars than you sitting in my bank account right now. How about that?”
“I think you’ll find that, in Ravaged, my title is manager, and that technically means I’m higher on the pecking order,” Lucas retorts with a sly smile. “Unlike those ladies in your bed, your ass is mine.”
“Fuck off, Lucas. You couldn’t take me on even if you tried.”
“I may be a flaming homosexual, Axel, but I can still whoop your ass. Now it’s time to get out of bed.”
I leisurely take my time to crawl out from under the bedsheets. I am going to do what he says, but that doesn’t mean I can’t make a petty show of reluctance while I’m at it.
Lucas stands there just watching me. He’s a loud man. Very flamboyant. We all love him. Lucas and I have an easy-going banter that I don’t have with anyone outside of Ravaged. Unlike everyone else that we meet, Lucas truly doesn’t give a shit about our fame or money, only that we stick to his perfectly timed schedule. That earns my respect.
He’s the only man in the world I allow to lecture me without repercussions. Mainly because he’s right about everything all the time, though he will never hear me admit that.
“You’re all about the asses today, Lucas, aren’t you?”
“I hope you can forgive me. Because of your band’s silly little tour, I’ve ended up being too busy kicking girls out of your bed every night to not get any.”
I grimace at him, and he stares impassibly back.
I rip the sheet away from my body and then realize I’m completely naked.
“Fuck.”
“Don’t blush,” Lucas says, not taking his eyes off mine. “I might be gay, but I’ve seen your cock a million times to even give a shit. There’s nothing you can do to impress me. With you boys, I’m less of a manager and more of a dignified childcare minder.”
“You should be proud of me,” I say as I collect a spare clean pair of Calvin Klein’s from the other side of the hotel suite bedroom. “Kicking girls out of my bed and all that. This is the rockstar lifestyle I signed up for.”
Lucas raises a concerned eyebrow. “Being a bad boy might sell a lot of albums and have girls frothing to get under your… Calvin Kleins, but people nowadays expect boybands selling music to teenage girls to have at least a teeny tiny ounce of moral fiber in their bones.”
