"Impressed?" I smirk at her. It draws a soft laugh from Layla and in that moment, her anxiety seems to ease like the room let out a breath just for her.

"Now…" Walking forward, I cradle her face in one hand and press a deep, lingering kiss to her full lips. "Get on the bed for me, darling."

Layla shivers slightly. "I like when you call me that."

"Noted."

She quickly obeys, scurrying to the bed and hopping onto the silk sheets with a soft note of surprise. "Wow. These feel amazing."

"Layla, I want to tie you to the bed by your wrists and ankles, then I want to blindfold you so that the only thing you can do is focus on my voice and my tongue."

She gapes at me. "What?"

"Is that… too much?"

"I…" Her head tilts and she seems to be debating with herself. "We'd need a safe word."

Now it's my turn to be surprised. "Yes. Do I have competition?"

Layla's expression turns sly. "Are you asking if this is my first time being tied up? Because no, it's not my first time. My safe world is pancake."

Approaching the bed, I lean over and claim her lips in another sweet kiss. "Delectable."

"You're welcome."

It doesn't take long to tie Layla to my bed with soft rope, and we spend five minutes testing the loose knot on both wrists so that Layla can free herself with a twist if she deems it best. Apparently, that's new for her and she tests the loose knot several times, almost in awe.

"Okay, I've never had knots like these before."

"Your trust is a gift, but you are not a prisoner," I remind her. "I will obey your safe word, but a backup never hurts."

Her chest rises and falls with a few rapid breaths. "Are you this considerate about everything?"

"Not everything." I rise from the bed and vanish into my closet, selecting several of my ties, then I walk back out to her. "For example, I'm not considerate about how hard I'm going to work you over until you can't even say my name without moaning. But, first things first." I hold up all the ties.

"Which color do you prefer?"

LAYLA

"Orange."

That's the last thing I see. Pierce leans over and kisses me as he places the cool, silk tie over my eyes and knots it smoothly behind my head. The word goes dark, and my heart lurches up into my throat. Pierce's fingertips remain over my cheekbones while his voice reaches me with a soft hum.

"I'm right here, Layla. I'm going to keep talking so you know exactly where I am. Are you comfortable?"

"Mhm."

"Tell me, clearly."

"Y-yes." I clear my throat gently. "Yes, I'm comfortable."

"I'm going to kiss you now, darling."

And yet, he doesn't. Not immediately. The anticipation of his lips against mine grows, and my heart races quickly, but where I expect to feel him, there's nothing but air. My tongue darts out and I quickly wet my lips, waiting for the familiar warm press of his mouth against mine. But it doesn't come. Anticipation rises like a fever across my skin, and I pull slightly at all four bonds keeping me still. I know he's there. His presence is a warmth that washes over me and I want the kiss, but it doesn't come. Each second drags past. My stomach tenses, my hands curl into fists, and I wet my lips again, fearing he's changed his mind.

Then his breath ghosts over my lips like a whisper and his mouth closes over mine in a deep, soothing kiss that sends a satisfying rush of warmth through my chest and across all of my limbs. He kisses me deeply, focusing slightly on my lower lip and then my upper. His nose presses into my cheek. The soft prickle of his beard is as welcoming as the swipe of his tongue across the seam of my lips.
