Every head in the room turned.

Wynn curled her fingers around the armrest.

Scout glanced down and rubbed one hand over her mouth.

“Are you going to share?" Coulter asked.

“Apparently, Quinn and his boss just arrested Chief Superintendent Hank Burn.”

Wynn should've found some relief in that statement. It was progress. It meant the police believed the evidence Quinn had presented and the rest of this team had risked their lives to collect. But all it did was remind her that Darwin was still fighting for his life. Fighting for his freedom.

“Quinn says Burn is being taken in along with two Hyperion security contractors, one executive assistant tied to Finch’s private travel, and at least four employees from operations command,” Scout said.

“What about Pope?” Gideon asked.

Scout glanced up. “He's still talking. Turns out, he's been gathering his own evidence.”

Zadie sat up straighter. “That's interesting."

“Quinn says he's been super helpful," Scout said. “Pope's handed over email, texts, access logs, internal memos, and even a private server map.”

“Did Pope know?” Zadie asked.

Scout nodded. “He's been scared shitless since he took over for Isaac, afraid he, or someone in his family, would be killed if he spoke up. He's been trying to find ways to leak this information.”

“I don't blame the guy for being spooked,” Coulter said.

The television mounted in the corner of the room had been muted since they’d arrived, but closed captioning rolled beneath a live shot of Hyperion’s front gate. Emergency vehicles crowded the entrance. Police lights flashed red and blue across the glass tower.

Wynn watched the words scroll across the bottom of the screen.

BREAKING DEVELOPMENTS IN HYPERION INVESTIGATION.

Scout’s phone dinged again. “Quinn confirmed they have Finch’s confession from the data center audio. But that's obviously not for public consumption.”

"It's all unraveling,” Zadie said. "Finally."

Gideon wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "It's about time."

“Quinn says Noah Henry is running the show, and that decision came down from Ottawa.”

“That's good news,” Gus said as he turned, waving his cell. "My contacts are telling me that they’ve launched a full investigation into Finch and what happened in Bralorne. To your team, specifically.”

"Does that mean we're not going to be ghosts anymore?" Neve asked.

"I'm going to work on that." Gus nodded. "More importantly, I'm going to look into us writing our own future. But one thing at a time."

"I like the sound of that," Coulter said.

Wynn heard the words. She understood what it meant. But all she could see was Darwin on the data center floor, blood spreading beneath his body, while EMTs hoisted him onto a gurney.

Her vision blurred.

She blinked until the surgical doors sharpened again.

Zadie got up and crossed to her. She didn’t make a big production of it. Didn’t ask permission. She crouched beside the wheelchair and took Wynn’s free hand. “We can turn it off,” Zadie said.

"What?"
