It's more than a little refreshing.

I pant another breath, my heart taking its time coming back down to a normal rhythm.

"Because you did all the work," I explain.

He grins wider, a sparkle in his eye that tells me he's recalling the marathon of sex we've just had.

I lift my hand and playfully smack his chest when he raises his eyebrows repeatedly.

"You're incorrigible," I say with a quick laugh.

He continues to waggle his eyebrows as he sweeps his gaze down my sweat-covered, naked body.

"Really?" I ask, not even attempting to hide the surprise in my tone. "You could go again?"

"There's a very good chance," he answers.

"Is it always like that with you?" He shrugs, his eyes lifting back to mine.

"You don't know?"

"Things are just different with you," he says softly, as if it's more of a confession than a statement of fact.

I don't ask him what he means. I don't insist on clarification. I'm not interested in his past.

I'm sure he has been through things he isn't comfortable talking about. I know I have.

"I know what you mean," I say instead, because it's completely true.

I've only been with two men, him and Graham, and the differences between the two are so vast it feels almost unreal.

"You can't seem to stop smiling," he whispers.

"I know."

"A lot has happened."

"I know that, too," I assure him.

I keep my eyes on him, and he seems no less eager to pull his gaze from mine than I do.

"I'm sticky," I say.

He looks down, smile unfading.

"I am, too."

I drop my eyes lower, my perusal slow as I look over his muscles all the way to his unflagging erection.

He clenches somehow, making it jump, and I don't know if it's the recent trauma finding relief or my lack of sleep, but I find it outrageously hilarious.

I cover my mouth, my laughter still slipping from between my fingers.

"That is my most favorite sound," he says.

"Not twenty minutes ago you said your favorite sound was—"

"They're tied," he interrupts.
