“Have I ever told you how sexy you are when you’re working?” he asks.

“No, I’m not fucking you in here,” I grumble.

The door opens before he can respond. Beverly comes in, walking to his side. She starts the process of giving him the shot before I stop her.

“I’d rather check it myself.”

She doesn’t look offended. She knows what happened and why I want to see what is going into him myself. I look at the lot number on the shot. I compare it to the system. Once I’m sure it’s correct, I give him the shot.

Then I start to clean up as Beverly leaves.

“You still on edge, Princess?” he asks.

I shake my head. “I won’t be trusting anyone for a long while. Especially not with the man I love.”

“I love you too.”

He kisses me. As he starts to deepen it, I pull away.

“No, sir. Not here. This is my place of work. I already managed to avoid one scandal. I’m not about to test fate. Keep it in your pants, big boy.”

He laughs. “Fine, but when you get home, I get to celebrate your promotion in between your legs.”

I hum. “Why does that sound more like a celebration for you than me?”

He nips my neck. “Trust me, you will feel celebrated.”

“I bet. All right, let’s get you discharged.” I pull away from him, leading him from the room to the nurses’ desk.

Travis is standing there, waiting for me with a smile on his face.

“Hey, Hades. How’s it going?” Travis asks.

“Good. Heard you want to bone my brother. I’ll put in a good word for you,” Hades tells him.

“Hades,” I hiss.

“See if I tell you anything,” Travis mutters before smiling at Hades. “Thanks. I appreciate it. As for you.” He turns his attention back to me. “The board is clear.”

I groan, looking to Hades. “You just cost me a free steak dinner.”

He laughs. “I only did what I was supposed to do. Aren’t you supposed to seek care when you’re injured?”

I roll my eyes. We both know he could have had one of the guys stitch that. He wanted to see me.

“I love you. Now get out of here.”

He leans down, kissing me as he grabs the discharge paperwork Beverly set in front of him. “Love you, Princess. See you at home.”

I stare after him as he leaves.

“Damn, he’s got an ass on him. Tell me you take a bite out of it,” Travis says.

I shake my head. “Order your dinner. You know where my card is.”

He skips off toward the lounge as I smile to myself.

Little does he know, I have taken a bite out of that ass, which ended with my ass red and throbbing.

It was an amazing night.
