He picks me up and sets me atop the bar, giving me a teasing grin. “Perks of ownership.”
The sight of his easy smile, the broad stretch of his shoulders as he moves, sends a bolt of heat through me. God, I should not still be this turned on. I’m supposed to be sobering up with baked goods, not fantasizing about him pressed against me again.
Jesse bites his lower lip and I watch him lean against the bar, looking at me like I’m the only thing on the menu. I set down my brownie.
“What?” I ask, my pulse tripping.
He shakes his head slowly, eyes dragging down my body in a way that leaves no doubt about his thoughts. “You look too damn good sitting there.”
The brownie is totally forgotten. “Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah.” His voice is low, roughened, and then he’s closing the space between us.
I laugh nervously as he steps between my knees. “This isn’t exactly—”
But I don’t finish, because his mouth is on mine—urgent, hungry, stealing the words straight from me. One kiss and my coat is sliding off my shoulders, forgotten, and Jesse is lifting me off the bar like I weigh nothing.
His hands grip my hips, his body crowding mine as he lowers me again to the smooth wood.
“Jesse—” I gasp against his lips, every nerve in my body lighting up.
He pulls back just enough to murmur, wicked and breathless, “Guess we’re christening the bar tonight.”
I grin, dazed, already tugging at his shirt. “Brownies later.”
He lets out a laugh, full and deep, just before he closes the space between us and hoists himself onto the smooth wood. My thighs fall open automatically as he positions himself between them, one hand still on my hip, the other bracing his body atop mine. His mouth slides against mine, urgent and hungry, like he’s been waiting his whole life to claim this moment.
I bite my lip. “Should I break a champagne bottle on it, or will my orgasm suffice?”
“I brought another condom,” he whispers against my mouth, pulling the small square from his jacket pocket like it’s a prize. “Told you I was prepared.”
“Eagle Scout,” I murmur, breath hitching as he slides my shirt up and over my head.
He lowers me gently back onto the bar, trailing kisses down my chest before sucking a nipple into his mouth. I arch up with a gasp, one hand tangling in his hair, the other splayed against the cool wood for balance.
“God, Jesse,” I pant, my back bowing as he sucks and licks, alternating between my breasts with slow, drugging attention. “You keep doing that and I’m going to lose it before we even start.”
“That’s the idea,” he growls, moving lower, nipping at my waist as he unzips my jeans and yanks them off. He tosses them over his shoulder and then presses a hot kiss just above my core.
“Take your clothes off,” I demand, sitting up on my elbows.
He obliges, slowly, deliciously—shirt first, revealing that chiseled chest I’m becoming addicted to, then his dress pants that barely contain how ready he is for me. When his briefs hit the floor, I can’t help the low moan that escapes my throat.
“You’re staring,” he teases, rolling on the condom.
“I’m only human.”
That makes him smile.
He moves atop the bar, and I lie back fully, opening myself to him, for him. The bar is cold beneath me, but Jesse is pure fire—his hands gripping my thighs, spreading me wider, lining himself up with a determined, hungry look in his eyes.
“Say it,” he breathes.
“Don’t stop.”
He pushes into me in one long, slow thrust that makes both of us groan. My head falls back, every nerve in my body lighting up as he begins to move. The rhythm is perfect—slow, then deep, then faster as the bar creaks slightly beneath us. I cling to the edge, anchoring myself as pleasure builds sharp and hot between us.
“Maria,” he gasps, voice wrecked, “you feel so fucking good. Better than I ever imagined.”
