His blue eyes were so mesmerizing, and the way he presented himself just screamed strong and protective. She just wanted to have him all to herself but he kept denying her and she couldn't understand why. She knew about him and the other Kats, oh yes, women talk. She also knew he was a gentleman despite the slutty-man-whore act he tried to put on in front of the boys.
She had caught him staring at her which he denied if she ever pointed it out but she couldn’t help but think he liked her too.
Mia had flirted with Sage so much and although he smiled and replied to her comments, he would never flirt back. He would flirt with other Kats but never with her. But she was not going to give up easily.
“Hello, big guy,” she said as she saw him walk into the bar.
“Hello, you little minx,” he replied. Mia couldn’t help but laugh.
“Little minx?” she asked.
“Well, yes, I’m sure you know it’s true,” he replied.
Thinking about it she knew he wasn’t wrong.
“This minx wants something that you have,” she said
“And what would that be?” Sage asked.
“You, of course.”
“Good luck with that,” he said with a chuckle.
“Trust me, Sage, I always get what I want,” she said as she turned her back and left.
Mia hadn’t been able to sleep with anyone which meant she had no information for the Omens. She had never realized how hard it would be once she had decided to work with them. She thought that when she took the job and got into the Hell Kats, everything would just fall into place. She never knew she would have to sleep with someone to get information and that task was not something she wanted to complete. It wasn’t just the lying that was hard but having to pretend to be someone she wasn’t had started to chip away at her. She could barely look at herself in the mirror. She had tried her best to look into other options for finding out anything that she could use but she had come up empty-handed. She knew there was no other way and she had run out of time. She had no more excuses.
“You’ve been told to get new information for us and you’re here empty-handed. How are we supposed to bring down the Screaming Demons when you prove to be so useless?” the informant said.
“I’m sorry but there isn’t any new information,” she lied, it was the only thing she could do. They couldn’t find out why she hadn’t found out any information. They’d laugh in her face if they knew.
“You’re lying, there has to be something you know,” he shouted at her.
“I don’t know anything. I swear. They’ve been cautious around me because I’m new,” she lied again.
“Well, you’ve put yourself in quite a situation now, haven’t you?” he said.
Mia did not know the guy who had been sent to meet her but looking into his eyes she could tell that this was going to end badly. He looked at her like she was meat and he hadn’t eaten for days. She knew better than to run, she would never be fast enough.
“I don’t even understand why they sent you in, you’re not even that pretty,” he said.
“It’s not about looks, it’s about building trust,” she stated
“Clearly you haven’t done a good job then if you have nothing for us.”
“Building trust takes time, but I think I’m getting closer and closer,” she lied for the third time. She was trying to bide her time, although she knew it wouldn’t matter. She was screwed either way she looked at it.
“You know what the boss is like. He won’t be happy that you have nothing for us,” he replied.
Mia had met Tyler once, when she had first found the Omens. He was a scary guy, and she was definitely scared for her life.
“I’m sorry, I’m really trying,” she said. Tears started building up at her eyes as she came to the realization that she may not walk out of this alive. She knew she was out of excuses and sorry wouldn’t work anymore. She had reached the final deadline.
“You’re not trying hard enough!” he yelled at her.
“They are very cautious as to who they share information with,” she tried again to explain her lack of information.
“You’re there to crack them, you’re there to get the information no matter what it takes!” he shouted as anger filled his eyes.
