“He might actually be waiting for permission before he comes back. Seems Daddy and his boy had a falling out. She didn’t know exactly about what, but she knew it was bad. It was bad enough that Carr sent Tyler away and told him not to come back until he had his head out of his ass. Something about one of Carr’s other kids. That was all she knew.” Autumn spoke as if she was a newscaster reading the day’s big headlines. “Anyway, there’s a man-sized hole in the wall where he threw Tyler through it. Must have been a big fight.”
Other kids? They didn’t have one damned piece of intel about other kids. Despite that, Autumn had done what he’d asked. She’d found out where to find Tyler Sedotal. Before Grier could tell her, Sage jumped in. “You did great, Autumn.” He shot her a smile over the seat. His pick-up smile. And if Sage wanted her, that was up to them.
“Thanks.” And she reached forward to tousle Sage’s hair.
He grinned over his shoulder at her and Grier drove faster. He missed his wife and his baby, and he finally had something important to tell her. But first, he wanted to get back to the club and make a few calls. He needed to find out about these other kids of Carr’s.
* * *
Fiona stared up at him. It had been three weeks since she’d talked about leaving Pine Hill for Mayberry, but when Grier walked in the door, she had her laptop on her lap and the baby attached to her breast.
He leaned over the back of the sofa, and she pointed to a brick ranch house on the screen. “It’s a little south of Chicago.”
“And a big hello to you, too.” But he took the laptop and scrolled through the pictures before he handed it back then kissed the spot under her ear that made her motor run. “You should check Belize. Sun and sand. Life’s slower there. Mayberry with palm trees.” And he missed it. Especially with the cold weather blowing in colder every night. He hadn’t ridden his bike in days and picturing Fiona in a bikini didn’t hurt the fantasy of living with her there either.
Fiona tilted her chin, exposing more of her neck for his lips. “I burned supper.”
“Not hungry.” He murmured the words against her skin. “For food.” Not only did he miss his bike, but he missed his wife.
“That’s too bad. Jez is in the kitchen making meatloaf and potatoes.” Every sound she breathed made his dick throb with more urgency. And then the words hit their mark.
Damn. Jez was one room away and his dick was hard enough to burst through his jeans. He straightened and adjusted, then semi-limped to the bedroom. Fiona followed. She shut the door behind her and pushed Grier against the wall then angled her body so his thigh ended up between her legs and her hands were free to go after his belt.
“Just because I can’t yet…” She flicked his jeans open and stroked her hand along his cock. “Doesn’t mean you can’t.”
Grier pushed his head back and closed his eyes as she knelt in front of him and tugged his jeans down. “Fiona.” He wanted to be a big enough man to tell her he would wait for her, that this wasn’t necessary, but… she wrapped her mouth around him and sucked him deep into her mouth, and he couldn’t think of another word to say.
She worked him, head bobbing and hand squeezing in perfect unison until he moaned, threw his head back and tangled his fingers in her hair. The things she did with her tongue made his balls tighten. Oh, God.
“Fiona. I’m gonna…” And he exploded in her mouth.
She continued sucking until she had taken every last drop. Then she stood, winked, and smiled. “How’s that hello?”
He nodded and when the brain fog lifted, he pulled his jeans up. “I think that’s the one we should go with every day.”
“You think so?”
This was the woman of his dreams. And that she was his until death did they part still amazed him. He pulled her in for a hug. “How long until you can…?” He nodded toward the bed and wiggled his eyebrows.
“Not much longer.”
It had already been a month. Hard to believe his daughter was a month old. And the knowledge made him smile. “Can’t be soon enough.” He wanted to hold her. Touch her. Bring her to the brink and pull her back until she begged him for release.
“You’re telling me.”
He stared long enough that she squirmed out of his arms, and he missed her. “Come back.” He reached for her and she side-stepped so he came back with an armful of air.
“I left the baby with Jez who is already making our dinner and cleaned the house while I napped with the baby.” She smiled. “I just wanted to see you with that look on your face.”
“What look?” The curse of Grier Owen was that he couldn’t hide much of what he was feeling unless he concentrated. And with his dick in Fiona’s mouth, he could concentrate on nothing else.
“The I-love-my-wife-I-love-my-life-and-please-don’t-stop-sucking-me-off-look.” She had such a smug smile, and he loved it. He loved everything about her.
“This look?” He threw his head back and opened his mouth much the same as he had a moment ago. “Or this one?” He crossed his eyes and panted.
“That’s the one.”
Since the baby had come, they hadn’t had much time to enjoy each other. He missed that, too. Definitely something they would have to work on.
