Her mouth moved over him, taking all of him in then her tongue slicked over the head as she bobbed up, and he thrust his tongue inside her. The whimper in her throat vibrated his dick, and he pulled his arm free to wrap around her leg, holding her there in case she tried to get away.
She concentrated her efforts, amazing efforts, on the sweet spot that lit his world up and his balls tightened. He dug his fingers into her skin and continued licking her even as he came until her legs clenched and she cried out and rocked against him.
When she climbed off, he pulled his still-tied arm free and settled her into his side. “That was… amazing.”
“I enjoyed it.” She turned her face to press a kiss against his chest. “And as much as I want to keep going, I’m so tired, Grier.”
“We have time.” He pulled the bottom corner of the blanket over them and fell asleep with his wife for the first time in a long time.
Once upon a time, Fiona was young and naïve and believed the world couldn’t touch her. She’d grown up a lot since then. And since things were going so well with Grier, even with the club, though they still hadn’t managed to track down Sedotal or discover why he’d targeted the Demons, a tightening in her stomach warned her things were about to fall apart. Or maybe it was labor. She still had three weeks to go, but the time couldn’t pass quickly enough and every rumble, gas bubble, and hiccup instilled a new bout of hope that she would be meeting her baby that day. Of course, so far it had never happened.
Hamilton poked his head in her office. “You doing okay?”
Oh, and the number of random visitors to her office asking if she was doing okay had increased by the thousands. Probably not thousands per se, but it felt like it. She nodded. “Just waddling along.”
Hamilton walked in and shut the door behind him. That meant a serious discussion, likely about something she didn’t want to know about. She waited until he took the seat across from her.
“What’s up?”
“Kye’s in town.”
Well, wasn’t that something? Kye Driscoll. And Fiona had no idea how she felt about it. He’d turned traitor, convinced Grier to go rogue against the club, then somehow ended up in Belize on the island she’d forced Grier to leave. She folded her hands over her belly. “What’s he doing here?”
“Don’t know.”
“The lawyer bitch come back with him?” Not that she knew Eliana well, but the family history there wasn’t something Fiona could forget. Her dad skimmed money, screwed the club, made side deals, then had the audacity to wither and die before he could take his revenge.
“No. He came in on a commercial flight. Got here at noon. Been sitting down Hell Hollow road since.” Sitting on the road leading straight to the clubhouse. Interesting. Hamilton spoke in a monotone which meant absolutely nothing since he usually did. But the darkness in his eyes, the fury she had the power to let loose burned behind the black expression. “You want me to get him?”
Did she? And what would she do with him if she did? “Yeah.” And shamefully, the doubt she’d had about her husband sneaked back in. “And bring Grier with you.” He’d passed every test she put in front of him, done every single thing she’d asked, and still… she couldn’t be sure he would choose her.
Hamilton stood and left, and now she had nothing to do but wait and find out.
* * *
Kye slouched in front of her desk, as handsome as he’d ever been but darker tan than she remembered from even the last time she saw him on the island when she’d gone to retrieve Grier.
Grier stood next to him on one side and Hamilton on the other. “Good to be back?”
His eyes crinkled at the corners from all that sun damage when he smiled. “I always liked it here.” He glanced around. “A little different than I remember.”
“I made some improvements.” In Max’s day—the thought of her father made her heart ache—the office had been more masculine, minus the crystal chandelier, the white fur rug, the white leather chairs and the small settee with pristine snowy fur trim.
He glanced at her bulging stomach. “And some expansions. Congratulations.”
“It’s a girl.”
“I just had a boy.”
She knew it already. Grier had felt it necessary to tell her. “Congratulations to you then.”
Nothing about Kye had changed. He was still cocky, smoother than chocolate pudding. He looked over his shoulder at the chair. “You mind?” When she shrugged, he pulled the chair up to his side of her desk and plopped into the seat. “We need to talk.”
“Well, I didn’t bring you here for entertainment.” That he was so comfortable, so entitled, burned in her gut. He’d walked away from all this for a woman. And while she might have understood it, she had to make sure he knew she didn’t condone it. He didn’t speak, just raised his eyebrows as if waiting for her to make another move in their pathetic little game of, not chess, but tic-tac-toe. She glanced at Grier and Hamilton. “Could you guys give us a second? But stay close.”
“We’ll be outside the door.” Hamilton turned and Grier’s mouth dropped open.
Apparently, her husband didn’t like being dismissed. “Fiona.”
