He stepped closer and leaned in. “I never make unsubstantiated claims.” He made a gesture toward the other end of the bar. “You weren’t really gonna let him ride you, were you? Frankly, that guy would probably not even know what to do with you.”

She felt herself get aroused by his suggestive words. “And you do?”

Already now, her heart was beating faster, and she knew he could sense it. His vampire hearing could pick it up standing so close to her.

“As I said, I love riding. And the wilder the filly, the better. I never back down from a challenge.”

Monique licked her lower lip. She hadn’t expected to meet a vampire tonight, but now that she had, she was glad for it, because his stamina would outdo that of any human, and that’s what she needed tonight. A man who took her hard and didn’t stop until she was completely sated.

She slid her hand onto his chest, feeling the heat beneath her palm, and the strong heartbeat drumming against her hand.

“I’m only interested in something casual,” she warned him. “I hate nothing more than possessive men.”

“Casual is all I want.” He dipped his mouth to her ear. “Though I have one request.”

She pushed against his chest. Just when she’d thought she’d found the right guy for tonight, he had to spoil it by making demands. Men!

“Stay in my bed until sunrise, and I’m yours for anything you want during that time.”

Surprised at his request, she raised an eyebrow. “Anything?”

He nodded.

Monique gripped the lapels of his shirt and pulled him closer to her. “Even a bite?”

He pressed his cheek to hers and whispered into her ear, “I can’t wait for you to sink your fangs into me.”

His voice was raspy now, and she heard the arousal in it. She knew what he was thinking of: the pleasure a vampire’s bite caused in the vampire as well as the host. And tonight, he’d be the host. She’d never bitten a hybrid or vampire before. Most of her lovers had been human, and she’d always used mind control on them to make them forget about the bite so that they wouldn’t find out what she really was.

“And I can’t wait to find out what you taste like,” she murmured, and pressed her body to his.

“Then what are we still doing here?”

“Do you have a name?”

“Does it matter?”

“No. But maybe I’d like to call out your name when you make me climax.”

“Fair point. How does Gray sound?” He looked into her eyes.

“Just as fake as Mona.”

“Then let’s get out of here, Mona, before I get 86’d from this bar for life.”

Grayson felt excitement course through his veins. He’d planned on picking up a human woman for some much-needed sex and a quick bite, but the moment he’d laid eyes on the vampire hybrid at the Black Velvet, he’d dismissed that plan. Taking the smoking-hot Mona to his bed would be much more satisfying. As a vampire hybrid, she would be able to keep up with his insatiable demands and endless stamina.

Grayson put his arm around her slim waist and led her outside. A light breeze blew through her long dark curls. Her face was like porcelain, her eyes a light green, just like his own. She was tall for a woman, and athletic, with firm, perfectly proportioned breasts. She wore no bra under her figure-hugging black dress, and she didn’t need one.

“One more thing,” Mona said and turned to him.

A moment later he felt himself being pressed against the wall of the building.

“Name it.” Whatever it was, he was confident that it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker.

“I hope you’re a good kisser.”
