“If anything happens to my sister, you’re a dead man.”

Bás turned to Rafe, who was glaring at him with a fierce promise in his eyes. He didn’t say it but if anything had happened to Valentina, he wouldn’t have to, Bás would do it himself. “I’ll find her.”

“You’d better.”

“Watchdog, call the team in now.”

“We want to help. Valentina is one of us, too.”

Bás considered Jack’s request and knew it wasn’t really a request at all. “You know this is probably Hansen.”

Jack’s jaw hardened. “All the more reason.”

“Then let’s do it.”

Before he could set foot outside the room, his phone rang and a chill went down his spine at the unknown number. Usually, he wouldn’t answer but he knew he had to, even though everything in him shied away from it. “Yes?”

“You really should take better care with your belongings, Bás. A pretty thing like her could get hurt, or worse.”

His gut rolled, his vision blurring with the fury and impotent anger burning through him. “Hansen, if you touch a hair on her head, I’ll gut you like a pig.”

“Now, now, temper, Bás. It will get you in trouble one day.”

“Where is she?”

He ignored the way Rafe fought Jack to get to the phone in his hand and turned his back, his sole focus on the man he despised.

“Safe for now, although she’s quite the wild cat. I like that in a woman.”

“You keep your filthy hands off her.”

“I’ll be in touch.”

The phone went dead in his hand and he threw it across the room, a roar exploding from his throat. This was war.

“Where is she?”

Bás placed his hand on his hips as he spun to face Valentina’s brother, who looked exactly how he felt. Part fury but mostly terrified for the woman they both loved. Shaking his head, he gritted his jaw and turned to Watchdog, picking up his destroyed phone and handing it to him. “Find her.”

Rafe shrugged Jack off and moved toward him angrily, his finger poking him in the chest. “Where the fuck is my sister, and why the hell am I the one bringing this to you and not the other way around?”

Bás wasn’t a man to be manhandled or pushed around but knew in this instance he deserved it. Two days and he was just now realising she was missing. What sort of boss didn’t know where one of his team members was in this line of work? The answer was one he could hardly acknowledge himself, let alone verbalise. A boss who was hopelessly in love with his employee and in complete denial. “This is my fault and I’ll find Val if it’s the last thing I do.”

Rafe all but growled. “You’d fucking better.”

The door behind them opened and Titan, Duchess, Lotus, Bein, and Bishop walked in, concern leeching from every pore.

“What’s going on?” Duchess eyed him, her voice firm and composed and he needed that right now.

“Val is missing. Hansen has her.”

“That bastard. I’m gonna tear his mother fucking heart out through his dick.”

In any other situation, he would have smiled at Lotus’s grim description of what she planned for the man but right now, he was too worried.

“I need a team to go to Germany.”

“Bishop and I can go.” Duchess glanced at Bishop who nodded.
