At that second, she looked up and smiled at him, and it was like being hit by a truck. The blinding joy on her face was so genuine it would’ve made a lesser man buckle and beg her to never leave him. How her dick of an ex-husband had let her get away was a mystery he’d never solve. If she was his, he’d spend every day making sure she never had a reason to leave him.
“You ready to go already?”
He stepped into the room and grinned at Maggie before greeting Autumn. “Yep, not getting anything done so we should go. I can try and work from home later.”
“Okay, let me grab my laptop from the conference room.”
“Goodnight, Autumn.”
“Bye, Savannah. Bye, Deck.”
“Goodnight, Autumn.” He winked at Maggie who clapped her hands and giggled. “Goodnight, Maggie.”
He followed Savannah out and went to let Liam and Reid know they were leaving. They’d be guarding his house that night from outside. The threat from the Cavendish family was real, and now they were on Eidolon’s radar they’d be dealt with.
Reid was in Alex’s office on the phone.
“Yeah, you too, sunny. See you in the morning, babe. I love you.”
Deck lifted his chin. “She okay with this?”
“Yeah, fine. Clay is coming over with Hattie in a few weeks, so she’s busy getting the house ready.”
“That’s cool. How is Clay?”
“Good. He and Hattie are expecting and won’t be able to fly out for New Year so they’re coming now.”
“That’s awesome. Clay is a good guy.”
“Yeah, the best.”
Reid stretched as he stood and swept his hair back. “You ready to go?”
“Yeah, if that’s okay with you and Liam.”
“Sure, Liam is in the garage playing with his new toy.”
Decker rolled his eyes. Ever since he and Taamira had been trying for a baby, Liam had been buying up mini versions of the cars they drove for his child.
“He does know it takes at least a year before they can walk right, and this one isn’t even conceived yet?”
Reid chuckled. “Yep, the man’s obsessed.”
“Who’s obsessed?” Savannah asked as she caught up to them and they walked toward the door.
Decker scanned the area, and Reid followed suit as they logged out of the building.
“Liam is obsessed with knocking his wife up.”
“Ah, I see.”
Decker took her bag and helped her into the Land Rover, and she rewarded him with a soft smile that made his chest heave and his dick twitch with arousal.
“You seen Decker’s place yet, doc?” Liam asked as he jumped in the driver’s seat.
“No, I’m excited to see it, though. Autumn said it’s gorgeous.”
God, he needed to fuck her out of his system and quick before he caved and did something monumentally stupid, like beg her to stay with him. “Can we just go and stop acting like this is a fucking sleepover. This is work and nothing more.”
