One by one, I teased each of his fingers with the tip of mine.

My entire body ignited. This was a dangerous game we were playing now. I wanted to feel his hands all over me. His soft touch. And how much would it take until I shivered so bad that I’d beg him to stop because it would feel too intense and bring me to the edge of a climax?

With a finger, I traced the side of his neck and his earlobe. “You’re doing great,” I whispered. His Adam’s apple bobbed. Was this as much a torture for him as it was for me?

No matter how much I knew I should stop, I just couldn’t seem to find the will in me to not touch him and study his reactions as I did.

His lips parted.

I couldn’t look anywhere else. I was transfixed by the sight.

Was it a reflex, or did he really mean it earlier when he asked me to kiss him? A fight arose inside me. I had no idea what to do. All of me urged me to dive in. Mold my lips to his. But a voice in my head told me I could be reading him wrong and making a fool of myself, so I abstained.

Trying to get rid of the tension rising in the depths of me, I jumped to my feet and grabbed a scrunchie from my pocket and tied his wrists together. “Game over.”

Andy’s eyes sprang open, and he looked lost for a fraction of a second. “Hey, what’s this for? What’s going on? Did I lose? I haven’t moved.”

“Insurance policy. Not risking your hands traveling where they shouldn’t.”

“Why?” he asked.

“We’re going somewhere.”

“See? Now you’re being bad. And kinky. I like it.” He winked, and I hesitated between kissing—for real—those full lips of his or slapping his cockiness away. Either way, the sight of him, his masculine scent, and the tone of his voice messed with my senses. I wanted to kiss him. It would be earth-shattering but would ruin me for all other men. That I knew. Because being so attracted to a stranger made no logical sense. But even though I tried, it was impossible for me to stay unaffected by Andy’s closeness. It wasn’t just lust but purely him and all that he was. More like how things were between us. Easy and fun.

As if we’d known each other for a long time and were now reconnecting after being apart. Familiar and exciting.

My focus returned to his mouth. Why couldn’t I stay indifferent?

His lips were a dark spell that kept me entranced.

I wasn’t ready to let go completely. Not yet.

This night would be long. So damn long.

I had started this challenge, and I would see it through, even though, right now, I feared my heart would never recover.
