His lips went back to mine, stealing every drop of oxygen from my lungs as he kissed me with a passion I never knew existed.

As he pushed inside me for the very first time, I put all my trust in the boy I’d fancied for so long that I still had a hard time believing he was mine. In every way that counted. The one about to rock my world and take my heart hostage for the rest of my life. A pinching sensation shot through me as Mason pushed deeper inside me. Tears built up in my eyes, and I swallowed to avoid crying.

He stopped moving and brushed my hair away from my face with a gentle motion, searching my gaze. “Mel? Did I hurt you?” He sounded alarmed as he studied my face.

I smiled at him, my vision blurry with tears, and extended an arm to caress his hair. “It’s all right, Mase. Don’t worry. Keep going.”

“But…you’re crying… I did that to you.” He pressed his cheek against mine before our eyes met again.

“No. You’re giving me exactly what I asked for, Mase. You are everything to me. And this…us…is perfect.”

“You sure?”

“As much as I believe you were right all along when you said that we belong together.”

“You really mean that?”

I nodded and locked my legs around his waist. “Now, show me what I’ve been missing.”

His lips grazed mine. “I love you, Mel.”

I pulled him to me, deepening our connection. “I love you. I’ve loved you for a very long time. I was just too afraid to admit it. See what you just did?”

Confusion filled his gaze.

“You grabbed another one of my firsts.”

“I did?”

“Yeah. Because with you, I mean it too.”

His eyes glossed over as he leaned back, staring at me in awe. Slowly, his hips rolled against mine, and soon I was unable to form a coherent thought as our bodies moved together in a dance we had never rehearsed before but felt as natural as breathing.

I love us like this and I’m not ready to go back to reality

Lying in Mason’s arms, I forced myself to stay awake, not wanting to miss a minute of his snoring. Tonight, he had made me feel special and safe, and it meant more than anything I’d ever done in my life. He meant more than anyone else ever had in my life.

I brushed his cheek with a finger, unable not to touch him. With his disheveled brown hair and soft features, he looked like an angel. My angel.

Like he had always belonged in my life, my bed, and my heart.

His eyelids fluttered open, and he fixed his gaze on me, a sleepy smile tilting his lips up.

“Hey you,” I whispered.

“Hey, love.” The look in his eyes sent my heart into overdrive. “You’re not sleepy?”

“I am. But I also wanna watch you sleep. It’s much more enjoyable. I still can’t believe we did all this. It feels surreal. A very good and enjoyable dream, and I’m afraid that if I fall asleep, I’ll wake up and realize it was my mind playing tricks on me.” I shifted in his arms, my bare front pressing against his muscled chest, capturing his mouth with mine. “Mason, you have a game this weekend. You should go back to sleep.”

“I feel totally rested. You’re all I need, baby. You’re all I’ll ever need.”

I kissed him with all the tenderness I felt inside. “I love this. You and me.”

“I told you we were meant to be,” he said, his grin taking over his gorgeous face.

I slapped his chest. “You’re too cocky, but this time, it suits you. Anyway, I can’t say you were wrong. Nothing has ever felt so right.”
