That will be nice when you have a bed.

It still made her a little uncomfortable to let them go through so much trouble, especially when she didn’t expect to be here for more than a handful of days. It wouldn’t take that much longer for her heat to hit, surely.

But something about Griffith made her not want to argue.

“Thanks,” she murmured once they were gone, sidling up to Nic. She carded a hand through his feather soft hair before she continued to the coffee pot.

“And good morning,” she offered to Tate. When she glanced over her shoulder, she found both sets of eyes glued to her. A mixture of concern, confusion, and a little curiosity was stirred in their gazes.

“Good morning,” Tate replied. “I guess you didn’t sleep that great, huh?”

Wendy arched a brow at him. “I’m a deep sleeper, so the floor didn’t even bother me.”

Nic grumbled, “She was using me as a mattress most of the night, so no, I wouldn’t say the floor bothered her one bit.”

Tate chuckled as she returned, taking Grif’s seat at the table and wrapping her hands around the almost too warm mug.

“You could say you’re a better lay than the floor,” Wendy deadpanned.

Nic groaned, throwing his hands in the air and leaning back in his chair without even attempting to hide his grin. “Well, at least I’m good for something.”

Tate laughed into his coffee.

“What can I say?” Wendy asked with a sigh. At that moment, Nic chose to walk his empty mug over to the sink, and her gaze followed him. “I’m a sucker for a pair of nice thighs.”

“Me?” Nic asked, turning around. His cheeks flushed.

Wendy hid her laugh in her right shoulder, finding Tate, his head tilted to the side as he checked Nic out shamelessly. His ass and thighs filled in his sweats nicely. And when he wore a good pair of jeans? Wendy bit her lip.

“Yeah, dude, I’d say she’s talking about you.” Tate straightened his head, nodding at Wendy. “Nice.”

“You’re both insufferable,” Nic scoffed. “I’m going to go change.”

“Speaking of, I’m gonna pop outside and do a set of stretches if either of you want to join.”

“I’m… good for now. Not a fan of the cold,” Nic said with a shake of his head.

Wendy agreed with Nic, she wasn’t sold on yoga in the winter cold, but she considered pulling out her sketchbook and taking advantage of the opportunity, now that the Sterling Pack wasn’t around to bitch at her about wasting time.

Well, the sketchbook was on her mind… until Tate stood from the table and walked his own mug toward the sink.

As Nic walked by, he tapped a finger under her chin to close her mouth.

“Oh shut up,” she whispered with a grin, smacking his hand. Louder, she addressed Tate. “I’m in. Lemme put on something warmer though.”

Nic’s laugh carried from the living room, but she ignored him as she ran up behind him and beat him to the room.

“Someone’s eager to… stretch,” Nic drawled as he entered the room behind her.

Wendy arched a brow at him. “Are you jealous you said no?”

Nic scoffed. “Please. Tate can lead me through a flow when it’s not thirty-six degrees outside.”

“Mm-hmm,” she hummed doubtfully. “But will he be wearing leggings?”

Sticking her tongue out at him, Wendy pulled on a thick pair of leggings and a cushy sweatshirt. Fluffy socks protected her feet, and once she was satisfied she at least wouldn’t freeze, she left Nic with a chuckle.

Her sketchbook would still be there when she was done.
