Then she frowned at the sunlight streaming in through the blinds of the windows.

Shit. She’d forgotten time moved differently in Chaos’ realm.

Daria glared at the afternoon sunshine. Maybe she would have enough time to catch a nap before everyone was up—wait.

Sensing someone behind her, Daria turned, and almost fell the fuck over.

Because not only were her demons standing around with shock and slight panic engraved in their expressions, but her coworker stood in the frame of the very wide open front door.

“Uh… hi, Allegra.”

Ever the diplomat, her brunette friend just stared, her gaze bouncing between all of them. “Oh… wow.”

TRUTH

“Who is it?” Truth called out from the kitchen. He checked his phone again and stared at his recent message.

Youth: You’ve gotta give me somethn, man. Pandora wants to do surveillance and i gotta have a location 4 her.

He shoved the phone back in his pocket and ignored it… for now.

Daria was missing, again, but at least this time her dad was kind enough to also leave them a note in her place.

Truth rolled his eyes at himself. I’m so stupid for leaving her alone last night.

Their talk had been good, and Truth hoped she’d thought about some of the things he’d said.

Like how much we all fucking want her.

Truth couldn’t deny he wanted to call her his. Especially with everything going on with Pandora, Sofia and Wrath… one thing after another. What if something happened and they were too late?

Trying to push his dark inner thoughts away, Truth shook his head. Another knock at the door interrupted him and he frowned in the direction of the front door.

“Who is it?” he asked again, as he crossed from the kitchen to the living room. The others were gathered around, settling in for the day. Their heads were turned toward the door, but it was Hope who answered him.

“I don’t know, did someone order lunch or something?”

Truth shrugged and walked to open the door since no one else was making a move to. It wasn’t until his hand was on the door that he heard shuffling, and when he turned his head, he noticed everyone was standing and on the offensive. Nerves tightened his stomach, thinking the worst, before he pushed it aside and clenched his hand on the knob. He twisted, and a strangled noise came from behind him, but it was too late, he’d already swung the door wide. On the porch stood Daria’s coworker, Allegra, and all his worry faded momentarily. Then her eyes went wide and he turned to see what she was gaping at.

Oh, shit.

Daria in the middle of the living room facing away from them, while the other guys gaped at her in horror. Truth was certain his face wasn’t hiding his shock.

“—meet Allegra for lunch,” she said dejectedly.

Then she froze and turned around to see everyone standing there and staring, plus their badly timed visitor.

“Uh… hi, Allegra,” she greeted with an awkward wave.

“Oh… wow,” she said with wide eyes as she surveyed the room.

Fuck. Shit. She hadn’t seen anything, right? Right?

“Would you like to come in?” Truth asked, refusing to let the words get stuck in his throat like they wanted.

“Hell yes I would.” She grinned then, her attention latching on to her friend and staying there. “You need to get dressed! We have brunch to eat and mimosas to drink!”

“Uh… Uhm… yeah! Do you wanna come up to my room with me?”
