A short pause took up the space in the room before Chaos sighed loudly. “Stop being so dramatic. You can look now.”

Daria only parted her fingers to make sure, and once she found Chaos clothed in his original outfit again, she sighed. That would have to do. What happened to his suits?

Then her brain seemed to catch up with what he’d said earlier. “What lessons?”

Chaos frowned and stepped forward, but Daria only stared because what was he—he laid the back of his hand against her forehead. “Are you feeling okay? You wanted help controlling the chaos, remember?”

“Oh, well, yeah. But I thought we’d have a schedule or something.”

“Well, this is or something. Sit.”

Daria sat, not really eager to argue and piss off the chaos god, even if he was her dad. The marble was cold underneath her ass, but she took a second to be thankful she’d decided to wear shorts to bed because she’d been cold. Marble would heat up fast, right?

Chaos sat across from her, and she tried really hard not to stare at the ridiculous image he made in those tight pants fit for… well, literally anyone else but her dad. Though, she guessed if she’d been alive since the beginning of everything, she wouldn’t really give a shit about what to wear either. Mimicking his pose, Daria waited for him to give her some grand piece of advice, something that would blow her mind and help her get her shit together.

Instead, he crossed his legs, sat up straight, and placed his hand palm up on each knee. When he touched his middle finger to his thumb, she narrowed her eyes.

“Yoga? We’re gonna do fucking yoga?”

Chaos startled her when he spoke, because his eyes were closed and he had a peaceful expression on his face. “Yes. We’re going to do fucking yoga. You’d be surprised at how relaxing it can be. It could probably help chill you out.”

“Are you implying I need chilling out?”

“It’s possible it crossed my mind that you’re a little… stressed.”

“What gave you that impression?” Daria asked, scoffing. “Was it the missing boyfriend who showed back up completely fucked in the head, or was it the four other guys who seem to want to be in that relationship too? Or is the fact I’ve done nothing but lie to my sweet, innocent coworker, when all she wants is to be best friends? Or maybe it’s the fact that I keep dying, over and over again, because of some crazy, psychotic bitch? I mean, really, what could give you the impression that I’m stressed?”

Chaos just arched a perfectly shaped brow at her, and her cheeks flamed with color.

Daria cleared her throat and took a deep breath. “Right. Yoga. Lead me, sensei.”

“Match me,” he instructed, nodding to her hands and her slumped shoulders.

Straightening her back, she shook her hands out and then propped them up on her knees, middle finger and thumb touching.

“What’s the opposite of chaos?” he inquired softly.

“Uhm… order?”

“For the most part, yes. Calmness, quiet, organization, order.”

Daria cracked one eye open, but when she saw his eyes were also closed, she snapped it shut again. Not knowing what to say in response to his remark, she stayed quiet.

“When your chaos has gotten the best of you, what was happening?”

Daria’s brows knit together as she thought back. The very first time she’d ever felt that pressure in her chest… the first time things had gone out of her control…

“The interview,” she admitted quietly. “The demons had literally just arrived the morning I was interviewing at At the Top. When the CEO asked me what I thought of the place, I blurted a bunch of stuff about how he was a womanizer and a lawsuit waiting to happen.”

“But how did you feel?”

“Nervous. Upset. Scared,” she confessed.

“Out of control?”

Daria nodded, but didn’t open her eyes.

“And the other times?”
