The bed is creaking and my grip on the headboard is slipping until he reaches out and covers my hands with his. He hits a place so deep inside me I cry out.

“Oh my God,” tears gather in my eyes, “do that again.”

He licks the side of my throat. His voice is strained. “Ask nicely.”

“Fucking. Please.”

I think he laughs but I can’t hear. Can’t speak, breathe, think, but he does as I ask. Not once, not twice, but three earth shattering thrusts back-to-back. The first kills me, the second resurrects me. But the third one finally finishes me.

It finishes him too.

He groans against my neck and I whimper his name and time is suspended for those handful of moments where we climax together before collapsing onto the mattress.

I can’t think.

This has never happened to me before—I lack the valor and quality taste in men to accomplish what has just happened in this bedroom. All over my body is buzzing, tingling, heart racing as I come down from the astronomical high my last orgasm reached. Was this all it took? A trip to Barcelona so I’d finally see all the wonderful things life has to offer?

Why the Hell did no one tell me sex is supposed to feel like that?

I get the sense Alejandro is about to say something to me when somewhere in the room, a phone rings. He clenches his jaw and appears tempted to let it ring but I shake my head.

“It’s all right. You should get it.”

“Don’t. Move.” He grips my jaw and plants a bruising kiss on my lips. “I’m not done with you.”

I can’t imagine what else he has in my mind. I’m absolute Jell-O from the legs down.

Alejandro moves in the darkness and locates his phone. He answers with a brutal, “What is it?” followed by a long stretch of silence. He moves to the edge of the bed and as I wrap the blanket around my figure, he pulls on his pants and closes the zipper. “All right. Give me five minutes…because I’m in the fucking middle of something, that’s why.”

He hangs up without allowing the other person to reply. He turns to me and I hold up a hand. “It’s all right—”

“Please,” he says quietly, the gentle request a jarring departure from his earlier demands in bed. “Don’t leave. I’m just going downstairs; I won’t be gone more than ten minutes.”

That’s plenty of time to find Karina and slip away. The real question is, do I want to?

“My cousin is still here.”

“I’ll make sure she gets home safe. I promise.” His eyes shift between black and hazel. “I’ve never had to beg a girl to spend the night before.”

I can’t help it; I laugh. “Is it because you’re always desperate to get them out or they’re always too eager to stay?”

“Both,” he answers honestly and when he smiles, I feel it in the pit of the stomach. “Usually, the former. I hate sharing my bed.”

“Ah, well, in that case.” I lean against the headboard and fold my hands in my lap. “I’ll have to be careful not to take up too much space.”

He fixes me with a level gaze, his smile deepening. He slips his hand behind my neck and yanks me forward for a kiss that sends electricity through my body. Pulling away, he murmurs, “Don’t. Go. Anywhere.”

Alejandro gets to his feet and leaves the room in a rush. His phone starts ringing again and I hear it when he says, “You have the worstfucking timing.”

A lejandro

Diego throws his rifle down on the ground and says, “How many times have we told you not to bring out the shot gun?”

Lettie blows out the smoke coming from the barrel.

“It sounds like a fucking bomb going off!”

Her jaw drops and she looks to me for support. I shrug my shoulder. “It’s disruptive, Leticia.”
