Oh fuck.

I held perfectly still as I waited for her eyes to snap open.

“Peter, I said no,” she mumbled and rolled toward me on her right side.

I didn’t like the sound of his name on her tongue. That was the first name she was never allowed to say again. Leaning dangerously close to her ear, I growled softly. “Never say his name again near me unless you want me to remove your tongue.”

Convinced that she would remain asleep, I slowly rose to my full height and stared down at the woman stirring unusual sensations in my body. The old behavioral control issues that I’d managed to lock up tight were rekindling in my mind, and before I knew what I was doing, I saw my hand reaching for her face.

For a fleeting moment, I pictured wrapping my hand around her mouth and nose as I suffocated her. I held back a groan as the image of what she would look like as her eyes snapped open, and fear danced in those violet depths. That would be too fast. I wanted to enjoy her and prolong this new feeling for as long as possible. Her lips were the perfect shape, with a slightly larger lower lip that would be perfect for biting.

My finger brushed the side of her cheek, and a tremor of need rippled through my body. I couldn’t hold back the gasp as the sensation hit.

“What would you do if I climbed under the blankets and fucked you the way you should be fucked, Sunshine,” I whispered in her ear. “I want to see you bleed, but I strangely want to do things I don’t normally bother doing. Things that don’t normally interest me.”

She murmured something in her sleep, and her tongue wet her lips. If I didn’t know she was indeed deeply asleep, I’d have thought she was teasing me.

“Do you want me to taste your sweet pussy? I want to decorate your body with your blood and lick it off you while I fuck you hard and fast.”

My cock was throbbing in time to my pulse, a steady drum inside my pants, but I still refused to touch myself. I wanted my next load to be on her body, which wasn’t happening tonight. I tilted my head and wondered what she’d think happened if she woke up with dried come on her chest and face. Would she blame that guy she was with? Would she think her roommate did something to her? The thought made me smile, but it was too dangerous to try.

I shivered and pushed the idea out of my mind. That was too big of a risk to take right now. Sunshine’s little murmur held only one recognizable word, and that was yes. The corners of my mouth curled up even as she rolled over onto her side away from me. My hand flexed over her arm as I restrained myself from touching her again. I was already playing with fire. If I wanted this one, I needed to follow my rules and be smart.

Forcing myself to look away from the creature that was so stimulating, I flicked through her phone and found everything that I was after. Who she was, who her boyfriend was, and I even knew that the woman I’d seen earlier was her mother. Her schedule, room numbers, exam dates, and even her period cycle were all at my fingertips. She had a list of passwords to all her social media accounts, credit cards, bank account, and emails. It was a small purple phone made of gold, and I sent everything to myself and then deleted the evidence before taking a few minutes to clone her phone.

Now I’d know about every text she sent, every call she made, all her passwords, and even what she looked up on her internet. I shook my head as Abel, and his terrible singing came to mind. I could totally picture him singing the song “Every Breath You Take” by the Police.

On a last-minute whim, I changed her background screen saver to a clown and smirked as I turned off the phone.

Leaning over my Sunshine, my Kirby, I rememorized every detail of her face. Each little dip, line, and imperfection were recorded in my memory.

“Sleep well, Kirby.” Taking the risk once more, I got low and could feel the heat coming off her skin as it pressed into my own. “Every breath you take, Sunshine. I’ll be watching you.” She shivered as my whispered words fanned her face, and I loved watching the goosebumps rise on her delicate skin.

I pulled the ball cap back into place as I silently slipped out the door into the quiet hallway and made my way toward the exit like I was a lover doing the walk of shame. I guess, in some ways, I was. She was mine, but she just didn’t know it yet.

I smiled wide as I stepped outside. I had some plans to make and a boyfriend to visit. Peter and I needed to get better acquainted.

KIRBY

I’d had the weirdest fucking dream last night and couldn’t shake it. When I woke up with a start this morning, I would’ve sworn someone other than Tina was in the dark bedroom with me, but nope not a soul. All I could hear was Tina’s weird whistly snore, and not a thing was out of place. I even checked under my bed, but no one was there. I wasn’t sure what the fuck I would’ve done if someone had been.

When I went for my run, a guy was jogging on the second trail. He had a hood up, and all I could think was that he was there to kill me. I mean, he had track pants on, and it was a cold morning, but no, my mind had to tell me he was a serial killer. So, I ended up tripping over my own damn feet and landing face-first on the trail. Now I was sporting an inch-long gash on my chin that, luckily, didn’t need stitches.

Oh, but the fun didn’t stop there. My messed-up morning made me late for class, and of course, it had to be my mother’s class. She called me out in front of everyone. Why? Because she decided that today of all days, she wanted to prove that I was not above her wrath to the rest of my classmates.

Now here I was at work, and my phone hadn’t stopped dinging with fucking Peter’s incessant badgering. He kept whining about how I needed to come over after my shift, how I shouldn’t be working at the café, and how things needed to stay normal—blah, blah, blah. Not to mention my screen saver had suddenly changed to an image of the Joker from Batman. I had no memory of changing it, which only added to my creeped-out feeling that someone had been in my room.

“What is going on, Sugar? That is the third coffee in a row you got wrong,” Jorge asked, and I wanted to cry and didn’t even know why. I was off my game and an emotional, nervous wreck.

“I’m not sure. I can’t seem to focus. I’m really sorry,” I said as he fixed my latest screw-up. The line had finally died down, and I leaned against the counter and crossed my arms. “I guess I’m really making a mess of things.”

Jorge smiled at the customer as he handed over the hot drink before looking at me. “In the words of the great Swifty Legend, you need to shake it off. Tell me what you think is going on?”

I sighed, and as if he knew I was thinking about him, my phone dinged again. I was tempted to throw it across the room. “For starters, my boyfriend. I need to dump him, but it’s complicated.”

“Is he the one that’s blowing up your phone?”

I nodded. “He’s driving me crazy. I don’t know what I ever saw in him.”
