It’s what you were meant to do. Like with Lucian’s parents, both being psychic, and mine, you inherited this gift. You and Josh will learn. I promise. Have a good night. See you tomorrow.
Then, she was gone.
“Did you hear that?” she asked.
He nodded.
“I did.”
She didn’t know what to think, but she knew one thing. If this man was going to be her ride or die, she wanted to lock that down, and fast.
Before this got weirder.
“Did you mean what you said? Do you want to get married tomorrow?”
Josh reached into the pile of clothing debris laying all over the floor and retrieved the ring.
Then, to prove he did, he sat up and faced her. Without missing a single beat, he went there.
“Will you marry me, Genesis? So that we can have a life together?”
It hit her hard.
Tears filled her eyes again.
Sitting up, she nodded.
“Yes, Josh. I want to be your only.”
That made him smile.
Popping open the ring box, the icy blue stone glittered in the setting, and it reminded her of…ice.
Like the place they’d just spent making love.
“How did you know?” she asked.
He laughed.
“It called to me when I went to look at rings. I was led to it. I’m guessing that wasn’t a coincidence.”
Oh, probably not.
The Ice Queen now had her Prince Charming.
Gently, he picked up her hand and took the ring from the box to slip it onto her finger.
“Tomorrow, we’ll elope. I’ll call a judge, and we’ll do it before we have to be at work. I think we should do it fast. I feel like I need to do this immediately.”
She didn’t argue.
Would she love to have the people there join them?
Yes, but they were fighting something monumental. Hopefully, they forgave her.
“Let’s do it,” she said. “I want to be your wife.”
Well, then, they were on the same page.
