“Actually, we are kind of here about the situation,” Honor stated. “Apparently, we have someone making this look like suicides, and they aren’t.”
He looked…surprised.
“Oh, shit.”
Tori went there.
“Yeah, but that’s off the record, Counselor. Please.”
He nodded.
“Sure. I was going to follow up with Lianna today, but I didn’t want to bother her on a weekend. I’m sure she has plans, or dates,” he offered, trying to get some information.
Julian and Tori both had their doors open, and they could see more dead inside the house.
Only two.
Granted, they were probably the two most important ones to talk to.
Trent’s parents.
It was clear that the dead hadn’t vacated the house upon their deaths.
“I don’t like them,” the woman stated. “They feel like they are trying to say shit about my son.”
The dead man moved around his son and checked out Honor. As he did, both Littlemoons listened. It was clear they didn’t realize they could see them.
“I respect a cop,” the older man said. “I liked cops when I was alive. Well, most of them.”
The wife wasn’t done.
“The woman is pretty. I think the redhead has nice eyes. She looks kind.”
Still, neither of them reacted. Once the cat was out of the bag, the two dead would be all over them.
“I’m sure my sister is free,” Julian stated. “I haven’t spoken to her yet today, but…she keeps her weekends open. The kids are likely at my brother’s playing.”
The attorney was about to say something when Honor went there.
“So, why did you have a delivery to your house yesterday of eight pentacles—the same ones found with all of the ‘suicide’ victims?” she asked, going there since the Littlemoons were stalling.
Honor didn’t have time for lollygagging.
At her question, he blinked.
“I’m sorry, what?” he asked.
Honor was to the point.
“Yesterday, late afternoon, maybe early evening, a delivery was made here from the one specific shop tied to our case. They said someone ordered eight pentacles, and they were dropped off here by one of the employees.”
He literally stared at them in confusion.
Tori was beginning to think he had NO clue what they were talking about.
“I didn’t get a delivery. In fact, Detective, I wasn’t here yesterday at that time. I told you that I was at my office doing briefs for cases I have this week. I stayed there most of the time after we all found Lonnie dead. I had paperwork to do for that, too.”
Tori was curious.
