She was curious.
“Why a bedroom?” she asked as she picked a pretty poppy that had been dancing at her feet.
Lucian knew.
"My gift is tied to Ridge as my tuner. I use sex to get deeper into the static. So, we fornicate in the bed that is in my head. My gift is fed by lust. Avalon’s is fed by peace, and we don’t know what feeds yours yet.”
For Genesis, this was all weird.
Not horrible, but strange.
She read her mind.
“It is, a little bit,” Avalon said. “And yes, you’re in my head, so I know everything you’re thinking. You’re wondering if Josh can join you, and one day, he will. It takes time to learn how to do this. It took Lucian a while to teach Ridge.”
She was curious.
“Will I have to have sex to do this?”
Avalon smiled.
“No. Your gift is different than Lucian’s. Right now, he’s tense because his body is calling for Ridge, and he has locked his mind down, so he doesn’t bother the man.”
She was curious.
“And if he unlocked it?”
Lucian showed her.
They flickered to his mind, to his room, and indeed, there was a bed there. It was massive, and the castle looked medieval. The bed was covered in furs, lined with red silk, and could be found in some erotic novel.
“Ridge, can you hear me?” he called.
They all stood there.
Then, they felt him. There was a warm wave of lust, and it washed through the room. It was akin to when two lovers saw each other after being apart.
Then, they heard him.
“I hear you. Are you okay?” he asked, sleepily. “My heart hurts, Lucian,” he offered.
There was peace and love from Lucian, as he did what he could in the static.
“I have you, my love. Rest. I’m with you.”
Instantaneously, Ridge quieted down, and that sorrow dissipated.
Lucian explained.
“He’s hurting, and I don’t know how to make this better,” he admitted. “But even in his pain, he’s connected to me. We did a sex magic spell, and we’re bound together.”
She was curious.
“How did he hear you if he’s asleep?”
Lucian shared.
“The static and sleep are side by side in our minds. He heard me call because it’s connected. He has psychic ability, so his brain is wired differently. Like all of ours.”
