Yeah, everyone kept saying it was going to be a long day, and it didn’t bode well.

For the two cops, Bishop knew she and Honor had shit to do, so Avalon had nailed that too.

“We’re going to be doing interviews all day,” she admitted. “First, I need to go to the morgue. I need to get this phone open and go from there.”

Honor added to that.

“Then, I want to talk to the doctor. I put a call in, and he’s agreed to meet us at his office. I didn’t mention why, but I know he’ll likely know. The media has put Wynter’s death all over the news. Unless he doesn’t own a TV, or read the news on his phone, even Boston is reporting it. Apparently, it’s big news.”

As soon as she said that, she looked at Ridge.

He was silently sitting there, white-knuckling Lucian’s hand.

That said it all.

Gently, she went there.

“Hey, Ridge, Honey, do me a favor and don’t watch the news,” Honor said.

When he looked up, his eyes were red, and he looked like he’d been crying.

A lot.

Honestly, that the man was sitting there was a testament to his tenacity. They all would have stayed in bed.

Then again, he was bound to Lucian, and that might have something to do with it.

At her request, he simply nodded.

When everyone looked at Lucian for some guidance, he nodded too.

There was no doubt that they were all in that awkward phase of not knowing how to deal with this. If they were like him and Bishop, they would want to hug the man, not only to make him feel better, but themselves too.

“We’ll keep an eye on him,” Lucian admitted.

Yeah, Tori thought that was for the best.

Someone was seconds from breaking all over again.

Call it a hunch.

Bishop continued, but no one missed how she placed her hand on Ridge’s thigh to give him some support.

“We’re fully expecting a shitshow from the shrink,” she admitted. “Plus, if he wouldn’t play ball with us the other day, he’s likely going to make us jump through hoops.”

They knew that was a distinct possibility.

Tori volunteered.

“Maybe he’d talk to us.”

Honor shut that shit down.

“I’m going to hold your hand while saying this, Littlemoon, but the day I send in you guys to do our job…I’ve lost my goddamn mind. We’ll handle it.”

Tori expected as much.

Bishop wanted to know one thing.
