My breath was catching, and I had to drop my head forward to savor the feel of him.

“Right now, this is the end of you being anything but mine.”

“Please,” I whispered, the tremble of anticipation in my voice having never happened before.

“I’m going to mark what’s mine.”

“Now. Do it now.”

That was the end of gentle Cole. I felt his claws on my hip as he held me still, and the other hand clamped down on my shoulder, drops of blood hitting the quilt under me.

He shoved in to the hilt, buried himself in my ass and took me hard.

I roared his name.

His cock swelled inside of me as he hammered into me, shoving me face down into the mattress, ass in the air, clawed hands on my hips, the piercing pain a perfect counterpoint to the searing pleasure of his thrusts. It felt so good, and I was chasing my orgasm, my forehead pressed to my fisted hands as I begged him not to stop.

The snarl was not a surprise as he suddenly lifted me up, bent me back, took hold of my cock, and stroked me once before his fangs were buried in the side of my neck. His bite sent me over the edge, and I came again, harder than the first time, spurting over the quilt under me.

I bucked back against him, my muscles clamping down, milking his length as his mouth released me and he licked the wound, tasting my blood.

His name clawed its way out of my throat in a rasp. “Don’t ever leave me.”

Turning my head, I saw his glowing orange eyes—not gold, not yellow, bright orange, like they were burning as he stared at me. He was beyond words, couldn’t give them to me, instead he took my mouth, kissing and biting, sucking on my lips, clawed hands still on my hips as he continued to pound me through my release.

When he tore his mouth free and put both hands on my shoulders, I braced myself on the headboard, holding on, my back sloped, ass raised as he thrust deep and hard and fast, the pace relentless as he pistoned inside of me.

In moments his mouth was on my shoulder again, biting down, his fangs locking me in place, holding me so I couldn’t move, and all I could do was take the rutting he gave me.

He cried my name against my skin, then stilled, and in moments there was hot cum dripping down the insides of my thighs. He released my shoulder, sucked on the wound a moment before licking it, then rubbed his face in my hair before putting his chin on the shoulder that wasn’t bleeding.

“I was already marked, why bite me again?”

“All I want to do is bite you.” His voice didn’t sound like his, more animal than man. “I want to put marks all over you. I’m going to let you rest, and then you’re going to ride me just like you said you would.”

“It would be my pleasure,” I murmured before he kissed me again.

When he eased from my body, slowly, carefully, he immediately went down on his back and pulled me into his arms. He clutched me tight, holding me to his heart, and we just breathed together for long moments.

“You belong to me,” he finally murmured.

“Yes. I do.”

“And so you know, even without a mark on me, I know who I belong to as well.” He tightened his hold, pressing his lips to my forehead.

“Is it me, the guy who was just screaming your name?”

“Yeah,” he said, sounding very smug and happy. “It’s you. And I loved the screaming.”

“I know you did.”

NINE

Years ago, I had a very loud doorbell that sounded like Gothic church bells. Ondine had told me, on a number of occasions, that the sound reminded her of the Inquisition, a time she did not care to be reminded of. Hard to argue that with her. Teague had said that as the church had never been fond of the fae, he wasn’t a fan of the resonant tolling of the bells either. So I’d changed them, of course. Didn’t want people in my life, under my roof, traumatized.

I had updated the chimes many times over the years, and now, like many people, I had a whole security system. When the bell rang, a small monitor on the wall above my nightstand showed the interior of the whole house, and with the push of a few buttons, I could see a beautiful three-sixty view of the back door and the front.

When the bell rang, I untangled myself from Cole, which I didn’t really want to do, got up, and checked to see who was outside.
