Rainey shook her head. “Nope, I don’t. I’m just going to tell one of the baristas, and they’ll bring it out to us. We don’t have to do anything, but I wanted them to know that you guys were with us, so you didn’t pay for your drinks.”

“You need to stop paying for our drinks. What about getting business? Aren’t you losing money every single time we come in here?” Echo asked.

“I’m not, and I don’t want my friends to pay. I’ve already told you this. Now I need to let each member of my team know to add Rae to the list of nonpaying customers.” Rainey chuckled. “I love you guys and want you to come without spending any money. You guys already bring in enough customers when they see how much fun we are having together.”

Rainey walked off before anyone could say anything, and Echo pushed Rae to sit in a chair.

“We are going to talk about you,” Echo said as she locked eyes with Raelynn. “I just want you to be prepared when Rainey comes back. We want to know everything about you and Butch and how you guys met. I mean, I know you knew Butch before, but I didn’t think you guys were together. Man, when you were passed out in his bed, he went almost feral. He didn’t want anyone to come near his room, let alone you.”

“There were so many people in the room, though,” Raelynn pointed out. “And sorry about that. I just was a little freaked out.”

Little was an understatement. She had been in an unknown room with only one person she knew, but who she hadn’t seen in over eight years. She didn’t know how anyone was going to act, and she didn’t want to get into trouble.

“Oh, I heard someone had found the love of their life they had been searching for years,” Demi quietly said.

“That was me,” Rae muttered. “I don’t understand why it was just a big deal, but oh well. We don’t have to talk about that specifically.”

She wanted to forget about everything related to Edmund right now.

“You guys can’t be talking about this without me,” Rainey said as she sat down and turned to Raelynn. “Tell me everything about Butch and you.”

CHAPTER 27

RAELYNN

Raelynn told them everything about Butch and her, leaving out all the private information. The girls all asked a million questions.

“Are you really not going to give us any intimate details?” Rainey asked. “You don’t have to be shy about it. We talk about what we want to do with our Daddies and how we are going to go about it.”

“Not everyone is as comfortable talking about it as you. Remember when you weren’t comfortable about it?” Echo pointed out. “Maybe that’s how Raelynn is right now.”

“I honestly don’t think I’m ever going to get used to it. It’s just something for the both of us that I think, for me personally, should stay between us. I mean, I’m happy to talk about like dreams and what you guys want, but I don’t know,” Raelynn mumbled. “I just don’t think I’ll ever get really used to talking about what happens between me and Daddy. It seems more special this time, and I don’t know if I want to let that go and tell everyone.”

It was a lot different from when they were in high school. Even though they had done things in high school and loved each other, there was just something special and even more intimate about it this time.

“And that’s okay,” Demi said. “I don’t think I could ever give details about what went on with me and my Daddy, if I get one.”

Raelynn’s phone went off and she pulled it out of her pocket, a smile spreading across her face.

“Your Daddy messaging you?” Echo asked.

“Yeah, give me one second. I need to reply before three minutes are up and he comes looking for me,” Raelynn explained. “Can’t believe he still gave me a time limit.”

“It’s better than the minute I have,” Echo said.

“My Daddy just calls me. If I don’t pick up by the second ring, he hangs up and calls someone else he knows is with me to make sure I’m okay.” Rainey chuckled. “Which I don’t understand because when I have Levi with me sometimes I physically can’t answer the phone, but he doesn’t care. He will call someone else to make sure that I’m okay.”

“It’s because he cares about you. I mean you do have the baby…”

The conversation drifted off as Raelynn read his text message.

Yes, everything is fine. We are having a good time and haven’t left the coffee shop yet.
