“That’s the guest bath. The master is over here.” Lucy called and I was relieved that this wasn’t it. I doubted a queen could fit in that bedroom.

“We got you the two-bedroom in case you needed an office or wanted a guestroom.”

I smiled. “Thanks that will be really nice.” I crossed the area again and walked into the master bedroom with the girls.

“Oh wow.” The large room had enough space for a sitting area in the alcove near the windows that overlooked the city. I’d be able to fit any bed I wanted in here plus a wardrobe.

“Check out the bathroom.”

I gasped when I walked behind Lucy to see the all-marble bathroom. I mean, it was everywhere. The floors, walls, bathtub, and shower. It was nicer than any hotel I’d ever stayed in.

“You guys! Is this real?” The waterfall showerhead was calling my name. I was really beginning to doubt I could afford this place. Sure, I’d paid my dues and earned a decent salary, but this...this was a dream.

Chloe and Emma laughed while Lucy looked as impressed as me.

“Yes, this is all yours.” Emma said proudly. “Welcome to Utah’s cost of living.”

I laughed. That was a very good point. I had received a bit of a pay bump coming here and I wasn’t paying the exorbitant prices to live in LA. My mind wandered to the fancy mall below. I could do a lot of damage with the extra money each month.

I walked to the closet and twirled. It was almost as big as my last bedroom. I was going to have fun filling it.

“Oh no.” My face fell.

Lucy looked up from her phone with concern. “What’s wrong?”

I cringed. “In a moment of rage and revenge, I got rid of almost all of my work clothes.”

Chloe smirked. “That bad?”

I shook my head. “Worse. I had to wear the tightest, most revealing outfits possible without crossing the line. That was all my producer allowed. So, when I quit, I got rid of almost everything. Now I have no furniture and less than a week’s worth of work clothes.”

I maybe should have thought things through before acting so impulsively.

“We’ll good thing we have the rest of the day to get you what you need.” Chloe looked at her phone and started taping.

“Hi, Viviane. I have a friend that’s new to the area and just moved into an apartment and has nothing.” She paused. “No, I mean nothing. Not even a lamp. Can you fit us in?”

Her lips spread into a grin while I looked to Emma and Lucy for clarification. Lucy shrugged while Emma looked excited.

“Thanks so much. We’ll be right over.” Chloe hung up and marched out of the bathroom without another word. We followed silently behind, each grabbing our purses where we’d left them on the kitchen counter and heading out the door. I opened my mouth to ask but she began explaining as I locked the door behind us.

“Vivianne has done my place, Madi and Erik’s, and Emma’s house. You’re going to love her.”

“She’s an interior decorator?” I asked as the elevator took us back to the garage.

“She’s more than that. She designs custom furniture and has it built to fit your exact space.”

I cringed at how much that would cost. The rest of them were married to professional athletes. I might have gotten a small raise, but I was nowhere near their level.

“I don’t know if I can afford custom furniture.” Or that I wanted it. Sure, I liked pretty things, but I was also practical. I just needed a bed that wouldn’t crumble to the ground in the middle of the night.

“Don’t worry. She carries a few lines at various prices as well. And when an item is ordered or designed for a client and it doesn’t work for them, she discounts it. She said she has a pretty large selection right now.”

That sounded more promising.

We all climbed into Chloe’s SUV and it was a short drive to Vivianne’s store, Indigo Interiors. The shop was uber modern with pristine white walls, floors, and ceilings. The lack of color or distractions made her furniture and accessories pop. My eyes feasted on the colors, textures, and pieces. I didn’t know where to look first as Chloe led us to the center of the store where a woman with natural salt and pepper hair waited for us.

“Chloe!” The woman air-kissed her before stepping toward each of the other women offering them a warm greeting. “And you must be the new addition. I’m Vivianne, so nice to meet another friend of the Pride.”
