“Gods,” he breathed, his eyes glassy and full of fire as he stared down at me.
I popped off him. “No gods here, feisty.”
He rolled his eyes but soon moaned as I took him back into my mouth. It only took a few seconds before he came into my mouth and I eagerly took everything, humming with pleasure as my human’s gaze found mine. I could tell he was still fighting this, but he also knew he was stuck with me.
I would be patient while my bonded accepted his fate. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t about to get on my knees whenever he wanted it. I stood, cupping his cheek as I gazed lovingly at him. “I’ll do my best to keep you happy forever.” His eyes widened at my words. I could feel he wasn’t quite ready to believe them just yet, so I just turned the water off and got him a towel. He was still panting against the tiles, looking both confused and content. I stepped closer and began drying him off, paying close attention to his reaction. He seemed either too blissed out to fight me, or resigned to his fate. Whatever the reason, I just enjoyed taking care of him.
Once he was dry, I used the same towel to wipe myself down, not really caring if I was wet or not. It wasn’t as if I could get sick from being cold. Then I surprised Benji by picking him up and carrying him to bed. His newest bite was already healed on his neck, the other side held my mark, the place I’d claimed him. It would forever be visible as a reddish scar, my teeth mark proof that he belonged to me.
“Are you hungry?” I asked, pulling the cover over his naked body before I adjusted the pillows. He just kept eyeing me warily.
“I could eat,” he finally replied.
“Anything in particular you’re craving?” I asked, sitting down naked on the bed and handing him the menu.
“Burger and fries,” he said, not even bothering with the menu.
I called and ordered the burger, making sure to also add a coke and coffee. My lovely human needed all the energy he could get. “It’ll be fifteen minutes,” I informed him as I returned to his side.
He just nodded. I didn’t like the silence that followed, so when he asked, “How is a blood bond formed?” I relaxed and got ready to explain.
“I drink your blood and feed you mine in return,” I began. “After I fed from you, I bit my lip and kissed you, making you drink my blood.”
“I thought that was how you got turned?” He seemed terrified by the thought.
I quickly shook my head. “It’s sort of the same, only with turning I would kill you right after.”
“So, hypothetically, if you were to turn someone, and they happened to escape before you killed them…”
“Then a blood bond could’ve formed, yes.”
“I wonder how many bonds were accidents,” he mused.
I shrugged. “Some, perhaps. But I also think it’s the intent when you bite. It takes a few hours for the bond to form and once a human drinks vampire blood, they often pass out. Makes it hard to run away.”
“Huh,” he said, looking genuinely surprised. “I did not know that.”
I smiled. “We don’t particularly enjoy sharing our secrets. But trust that I will always tell you everything you wish to know.”
He eyed me for a beat, then nodded. “Okay.”
We were silent until the food showed up. I’d put on some loose pyjama pants, just because I knew my human wouldn’t appreciate me showing the receptionist my cock. He’d of course been the one delivering all our meals, each time lingering annoyingly like I was about to invite him in. I hadn’t bothered coercing him to leave us be, simply because I loved how Benji had growled from the bed.
After Benji had eaten half of his burger, he seemed to have plenty of questions. “How long was I asleep for?”
“Just a few hours. You slept for longer than normal, likely because of your injury.”
“Injury?” he asked, confused.
“Your thigh,” I reminded him. “When we bond, the human gets healed as their body goes through the changes.”
“Changes?!” He pushed his food away and looked under the covers, perhaps searching for any abnormalities.
“They’re internal,” I drawled, suppressing a smile. He was just too cute.
He glared at me and covered himself again. “Excuse me, for not knowing how blood bonds work,” he sassed.
I moaned, “I love it when you get all feisty on me.”
