“Don’t you dare. Next time, you can choke me a bit as well.”
Bobby’s eyes widened, but the way he licked his lips told Gabriel that he’d be up for it. First, he needed to order them some pasta. Today, he could take a leaf out of Bobby’s book and be lazy with cooking, cleaning, and all that domestic crap.
They’d had an amazing day together, lounging on the sofa, watching trashy Christmas films. They’d found several Hallmark-style films, but gay ones, some of which neither of them had seen. All food after breakfast had been ordered in, and Bobby had delivered on all his promises, from the bubble bath to two more hard dickings, the last of which Gabriel’s body was still shuddering from. Bobby had gripped his neck, but not as hard as Gabriel liked. He’d looked uncertain about what he was doing, so they could build up to that. If Bobby was genuinely uncomfortable, they could give it a miss, but Gabriel sensed it was more that his husband didn’t want to hurt him.
His husband! He couldn’t help but chuckle.
“What are laughing about?”
“I’m just wondering if there’s a question on the annulment papers about consummating the marriage. Do you think putting ‘five times in two days’ would go against us?”
Bobby looked away, although Gabriel didn’t miss the blush on his face.
“What have you done?”
“Promise you won’t get mad?”
“That depends.”
Bobby put on his sad eyes, and Gabriel couldn’t help but smile. “Fine, I won’t get mad.”
“I haven’t filed the annulment yet.”
Gabriel breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank fuck for that. I thought you were going to say something bad.”
“You’re not pissed off?”
“About being married to you? I think I can live with it.”
Bobby laughed. “I thought you’d be upset with me. I got all the paperwork, but then I kept forgetting to do it at work. When I was home, I just wanted to spend time with you, not deal with loads of boring paperwork.”
“For a successful lawyer, you’re a bit of a lazy twat, aren’t you?”
Bobby opened his mouth in surprise and then started laughing. “Fair. So, what do you want to do about the annulment?”
“Nothing right now. I need to sleep. That’s something to think about another day.”
Bobby kissed him gently and then pulled Gabriel into his arms as he had done last night. Was this how they were going to sleep every night now? He’d talked about them keeping things quiet for now, but that couldn’t last forever. The people surrounding them were very intuitive. For now, though, Gabriel was happy to stay in this bubble of happiness and delusion for as long as possible.
CHAPTER 21
BOBBY
Bobby couldn’t keep the smile off his face, and people were commenting, but he couldn’t tell them why he was so happy. He’d promised Gabriel he wouldn’t say anything, but he wanted to shout it from the rooftops. If people had an issue with him being in a relationship with a man, that was their problem. He didn’t feel like he needed a “coming out” moment, because he wasn’t sure which box he was in. All he knew was that he wanted a relationship with Gabriel and had never felt such a connection with anyone before. Once he’d stopped questioning what it all meant and just followed his heart, everything had clicked into place.
He’d known Gabriel for two years and always admired him. Since the start of the year, they’d become friends, and then Gabriel had been his knight in shining armour when he was homeless. Gabriel could have left Bobby to deal with everything himself and stayed loyal to his sister, but he hadn’t. He wasn’t sure when he started thinking about Gabriel differently, as it was a lot of little things. When he’d kissed him for the first time, it had felt right. And the sex? That was incredible. He couldn’t get enough, and he loved that he could be rough, and Gabriel encouraged him to do it.
Bobby knew he was a big guy, but he could manhandle Gabriel and not worry about hurting him. Well, that wasn’t true, he would always worry a little. If he hurt Gabriel, even by accident, he could never forgive himself. Thinking about manhandling Gabriel in bed was making him get hard at his desk. Not something he needed when he had a meeting with the bossman in ten minutes. He would need to head up to that floor soon.
“Good morning, Bobby,” said Sergio, appearing in front of his desk.
“This isn’t your floor.”
Sergio chuckled. “Thought I’d stop by and ask after that husband of yours.”
He spoke quietly so nobody could hear him, but Bobby could feel his face heating.
“I’m glad you two worked things out.”
