Gabriel’s eyes widened. “Yeah. Are you okay, Bobby?”

“Yeah, fine. I was just hoping we could do something tonight, but if you’ve got plans, that’s cool. Where are you meeting him?”

“I think we’ll survive a night off from the takeaway and movies. We can do that tomorrow,” he smiled.

“Cool. Where are you meeting him?”

“He suggested Knights Corner, but I’m not sure. I can’t do Soho, but Knights Corner will mean I have Langdon reporting back to Jason on how it’s going.”

“That’s a good thing, though, isn’t it? You’ll be safe in Knights Corner.”

“Safe? He’s not a serial killer.”

“How do you know that?”

“Don’t you work with the guy?”

“Yeah, but I don’t know what he’s into outside of work.”

Gabriel snorted.

“What?” asked Bobby. His heart was beating fast, and he wasn’t sure why.

“Jason vetted him, so I know far more than I should about someone I’ve not even met yet. I think we’ll be fine.”

Bobby felt a surge of jealousy. What did Sergio have that he didn’t? And why the fuck was he thinking like that? Sergio was gay, and Bobby wasn’t, so that was a big thing straight away.

“What do you mean?” asked Bobby. He wasn’t sure why he asked that question, but he couldn’t stop himself.

“I’m not having this conversation with a straight guy,” he said, standing up and heading back into the kitchen.

“I’ve probably heard worse from my brothers,” he said, following.

That was true of Ryan, who had no filter. Although Martin was also not so innocent based on what his big brother had shared about their middle sibling. Right now, he had to be sure that Sergio wasn’t into something that would hurt his husband. Bobby couldn’t help but laugh at the thought.

“What are you laughing at?” Gabriel was smiling, so they were good.

“I just think you should tell your husband what you’re planning to do with this guy tonight. Do I need to make myself scarce?”

He added a laugh but felt sick. He wasn’t sure what he’d do if Gabriel asked him to go somewhere else, or he brought Sergio back here and he had to listen to them fucking. Maybe they’d go back to Sergio’s place, and Bobby wouldn’t know what was going on. Why did that feel worse than them doing it here?

“I don’t fuck a guy on the first date,” said Gabriel.

“Oh . . . so you don’t have one-night stands?”

“I didn’t say that, but this is a first date, so I take that off the table, and then there’s no pressure. If we click, I’ll be arranging the second date straight away. You might need to go out then. I can be a bit loud.”

Bobby felt his face heating and his dick hardening, which was making him feel even more embarrassed. Thankfully, he was behind the kitchen cupboards which came out from the wall, so his crotch wasn’t visible. Why was the idea of Gabriel being loud in bed making him hard? He really needed to find someone to fuck. That’s all it was. It had been too long since he’d got his end away. But the idea of finding someone for a date and then doing all the buildup was something he just couldn’t be bothered with. Maybe he could use one of the apps. That had never really been his thing, though. Even at uni, he preferred relationships to casual sex. There were some encounters that had started casually and built from there. He’d only lost his virginity at eighteen, which according to Dillon was “old as fuck.”

“How old were you when you lost your virginity?” asked Bobby.

“What? Where did that come from?”

“It just popped into my head. I was eighteen. How about you?”

“Which virginity are you referring to?” asked Gabriel.

“What do you . . . oh, is this a top or bottom thing?”
