“So fucking beautiful.”

She opened her eyes to see him staring down at her. The look in his eyes was indecipherable. Then again, that may have been because her brain was all fuzzy and mushy.

He lowered his face back to her neck, sucking hard on her skin. His hips started rocking, small movements ta first, the kind that sent little tremors through her. And then the rock became a thrust, a little harder, a little deeper.

She pulled her hands from his grip, mostly because she needed to touch him. To hold him. She slipped her arms around him, ran her fingers over the flexing muscles of his back. He slid his hand down, along the edge of her breast, her waist, her hip. Grabbing hold of butt and holding her still, pulling her against him with every inward thrust.

Pressure built inside her again. She didn’t think it was possible, considering she’d already had three mind blowing orgasms, but her tingling flesh said otherwise. The slick glide as he pushed inside her, the hard press of his pubic bone against her clit straddled the border between exquisite agony and extasy. It was too much and she groaned.

He thrusted hard and faster, his hips smacking against hers, the sound of flesh hitting flesh loud in the quiet house. Each time he pushed in, she clenched everything below her bellybutton. He grunted with each stroke, the sound muffled against the skin of her neck.

She scraped her nails down the skin of his back, not hard enough to break the skin, but just enough that the marks would be there for a few hours. He let loose a strangled gasp and shifted to short, hard strokes. His fingers dug into her butt, hard enough to leave a bruise.

Her hips rolled against his, clearly not done, even though the rest of her body felt wrung out. She turned her head, pressing a kiss to his temple, the side of his head, the shell of his ear. Goosebump scattered across his skin at the touch of her lips.

“Come for me.” She whispered the words against his ear, unsure of where they’d come from. “Come deep inside me.” She licked the shell of his ear, and he shivered.

When she took his earlobe between her teeth and bit down gently, his hips bucked hard against hers, and he grunted his release against her neck. His entire body stiffened, and he pressed all the way inside her, holding still.

She felt him pulse against her sensitive walls, making her tingle. She tightened her inner muscles, squeezing and letting go in a distinctive rhythm. He groaned, pushing against her, trying to get deeper. Another shiver rocked him, the friction against her clit just enough to tip her over the edge one more time.

This orgasm wasn’t the blow the top of your head off kind, just a nice little release of tension, a full body tremble as the sensation bounced through her cells. She sighed, satisfaction rolling through her, calming her.

Jake ’s muscles unclenched, and he let go, his weight pressing her into the mattress. She stroked her hands up and down his back, her fingers gliding over his hot, slightly sweat skin. He was probably too heavy to be laying on her, but she didn’t care. The feel of him draped over was just too exquisite.

She slid her hand up and into his hair, the silky strands tickling her skin, and scraped her mails gently against his scalp. He growled, another shiver rocking through him.

Lifting his head, he captured her lips in a kiss so soft and sweet, something inside her cracked. She kissed him back, needing him to feel how deep her feelings ran, how much he and this moment meant to her.

He pulled away from her lips to stare down at her. The satisfied smile that spread across his face made her pulse kick up again. “Thank you,” he said, sipping at her lips again. “That was incredible.”

He rolled off of her, out of her, and the loss of him was full blown ache. She wanted to grab him, pull him back, ask him to never let her go. But she didn’t, mostly because she couldn’t move. Her muscles felt like they’d been dipped in concrete. Exhaustion was barreling down on her like a stampede.

Jake slid off the bed, disappearing into the hallway, but not before she got an eyeful of his beautiful nakedness. She was extremely biased, but he honestly had the greatest butt in the world.

She rolled to the edge of the bed—it took far too much energy after everything that had happened today—and was just about to get up and take care of stuff, when he came back into the bedroom, carrying a towel and a wash cloth. He’d taken care of the condom, and clearly didn’t care that he was walking around stark naked. Not that she was complaining. He was glorious to look at.

“Just stay there,” he said, coming over to the bed and squatting down next to it. He captured his lips in another sweet kiss as he gently wiped between her legs with the cloth. It was intimate, probably the most intimate thing she’d ever experienced, and her cheeks prickled with heat.

He quickly finished taking care of her and then maneuvered her under the covers. She thought for a second, doubts crowded in and she convinced herself between one heartbeat and the next he was going to leave her, like he had the last time, and she braced herself for the rejection.

He slid into the bed next to her, gathering her in his arms, his front to her back, like big soon and little spoon. Having him wrapped around her felt like coming home, and she leaned back into him, running her fingers along the arms that were wrapped around her.

Sleep closed her eyes with a sigh, and gave into the exhaustion. It would be the first time she could ever remember where her dreams couldn’t touch her reality. She just couldn’t help feeling, deep down inside, that all of this was far too good to be true.

Jake stared at the ceiling, the early afternoon light casting shadows along the expanse of white. Claire was curled into his side, her head on his shoulder. With every exhale, her breath tickled his skin. She’d fallen asleep after their mind-blowing sex session.

He was rubbing a lock of her golden hair between his thumb and forefinger. It was soft, silky, against his fingertips. He liked the feel of her there, wrapped around him, probably too much. It was sobering thought.

What had he been thinking? This was Claire, not one of his regular bed bunnies. Fuck. The fact he’d just used the phrase bed bunnies left sourness burning on the back of his tongue. What the fuck was wrong with him?

He eased out from under Claire, holding his breath, hoping she wouldn’t wake up. Thankfully, she just sighed and then snuggled into the pillow. He stood at the edge of the bed, looking at her. Her lashes were dark against her pale cheeks, her eye makeup smudged a bit. Her hair was a golden halo spread out on the pillow. She looked young when she was relaxed. Too young. Even though they were the same age—technically, he was four months older—somehow, he felt like a dirty old man.

It didn’t make any sense, but then, nothing today made sense. And his emotions were still all over the place. He had a feeling that what he and Claire had just done only complicated things. What was she expecting out of this? What did he want? It had seemed like such a good idea a couple of hours ago.

He’d been hurting, and she’d been there, holding him, consoling him. And he knew she was hurting too, and he wanted to be there for her, like she’d been there for him his whole entire life. She’d said she wanted him, and he’d let his base instincts take over.

The sex had been incredible. He was just afraid it had also been a mistake.
