She would not be so foolish
to come here to hurt me.
For what was I worth?
I was of no true value to this war.
When I gestured for her to enter,
I murmured a quiet spell
to ensure my chamber doors
remained shut so no one entered.
‘Metis,’ I said coldly.
‘Why are you here?’
‘I Have Come With an Offer’
Her words made me narrow my eyes.
What could she possibly offer me now?
I watched as she sat down at the edge
of my bed. Her long white hair flowed
to her waist and she looked every part
the ethereal God-Queen
‘What is it?’ I asked,
in no mood for games or tricks.
‘Sister,’ she said, ‘Zeus meant
what he said when he offered godhood
and clemency in exchange for loyalty.’
I snatched in a deep breath, my heart
suddenly starting to race.
She looked out of the window to lightning clashing.
‘We need your support. Already,
Titans are starting to join us.
There is little chance if more take our side
that Zeus will not win this war.’
