I swallowed hard.

‘Metis, the other Titan Goddess

who visited you. Where did she go?’

Tartarus narrowed his eyes slightly,

as though digging through memory.

‘She was looking for a lava stone.

She too answered a riddle for it.

Then asked me where the garden

of the golden apples lay.’

I frowned at his words.

The garden of the golden apples?

It was Pallas who took my arm then.

‘He is speaking of the king of orchards, Atlas.’

I looked at the great being and whispered,

‘Thank you.’
