He winks and takes my hand, pulling me along.
The girls are still at the table, chatting and laughing. The shots have mostly worn off, they spot us immediately.
I know we are slightly disheveled and flushed.
They both grin. I smile awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck.
“Let's dance.” Evren orders.
Before I can answer, he drags me into the middle of the dance floor.
The music pounds around us, but he seems oblivious to everyone else.
His hands settle on my hips, his body presses close to mine and looks straight into my eyes.
“You're fucking beautiful,” he snarls. “It's pissing me off. I'm gonna have to kill too many fuckers.”
I laugh, shaking my head in disbelief as I wrap my arms around his neck.
“Infuriating monster,” I mutter. “You'll never change.”
“No.” He barks the word without hesitation. “Never. You got a problem with that?”
“Makes it better, doesn't it?”
His eyes widen in disbelief, for a long second, he searches my face, looking for a lie, for hesitation, the sarcasm, for anything.
But there isn’t.
“Un-fucking-believable.” He scoffs.
He dips his head and kisses me, devouring my mouth desperately.
His tongue seeks access to my mouth, which I willingly grant. Our teeth and lips clash together.
The kiss is desperate, messy, and chaotic.
I'm not sure why I just said that—maybe it's the shots, or the sex, or the day I spent with my girls.
But for certain, I’m exactly where I want to be.
CHAPTER 63
Evren
The Devil Within - Digital Daggers / Turbo Killer - Carpenter Brut
The seasonal race is tonight—so the garage is deafening. Members run in every direction, hauling parts, shouting across the workshop, engines roaring to life one after another.
Neo and Ren bark orders over the chaos while Varek stands there like the silent mountain he always is.
I'm buried elbow-deep in the Charger's engine.
My mind keeps drifting back to the map every participant received.
The Seasonal Race tears through multiple increasingly brutal stages spread across Kairo-9. Each course demands a different balance of speed, precision, and adaptability. With every stage, more racers are eliminated.
The pressure only gets worse until only the city's best are left.
